14.5 miles of towpath. Easy to get a regular bus to any end of the towpath without much effort. Good for: 1. Running, very flat except for the occasional bridge. 2. Wildlife watching, Kingfishers, Water Voles, Buzzards, many fish species, Dragonflies, Roe Deer, Grass Snakes....More

We walked along the canal this morning with 2 little dogs. It was just perfect. Very quiet and plenty of shade which was ideal for the dogs. Such beautiful scenery and we enjoyed spotting he different planets along the way. Watched the lock gates being...More

Nice walk along the Taunton Bridgwater canal. Well recommended in a sunny day. Dog owners, bicycles riders or if you like to have a long or short stroll this is a place to go.

Great canal side walk cycle or jogging route. Loads of wildlife to see everybody my family and I have met along the way are cheerful and full of life. Stoke St Gregory smashing village with a great pub serving good pub grub.

All in all have walked the entire length from Taunton to Bridgwater. Not in one go . Plenty to see and do with a few canal side tearooms along the way . Water , for a canal is very clear and large shoals of bream...More

myself and wife spent a very enjoyabe time on our bikes, there are places to stop and eat / drink. We went all the way to Bridgwater whch though a wee drab was intersting. pick a nice sunny day and you'll have fun.

You can start this towpath walk in several places between Taunton and Bridgwater, the carpark at North Newton is a good place to start. Lovely and quiet in peaceful countryside ideal for dogs and children, occasional electric boat rides ( need advance booking). Very nice...More

Just adore walking various stretches of this canal walk. Beautiful views. Wildlife . Interesting locks and history to learn about. Meet lovely people and stop for drinks along the way.
