    Bishop Lydeard Watermill
A very interesting and informative museum with lovely friendly staff. Enjoyed a cup of tea and homemade cakes sitting next to the watermill. From the West Somerset Steam Railway its about a ten minute walk. Well worth a visit.

Little Gem. Well worth a visit.
An absolute gem. Have known about this Mill for years but never taken the trouble to visit. Far more content than we expected and the mill wheel was running. Having had previous experience with mill workings I was pleased to be able to see how well this was laid out. The mill and tea-room are non-profit concerns and all takings are ploughed into charity.

A must see! They restored this all on their own!!
We live in Taunton and had never heard of this place so when my mum came for her bi annual visit, we decided to go have a look - and WOW I am so glad we did! We got to meet the owner & restorer and chat with him about all the work he had carried out as well as some of the trials & tribulations that goes along with extensive restoration work. What a fantastic man he is. We also got to meet his wife, who makes all the cakes etc that get sold in their tea rooms (also a must visit as the ladies there are just wonderful) and spent a good while chatting with her too and learning about the difficulties they experienced while trying to advertise the place. Honestly people - this really is a place to go and visit - the guy who volunteers there was such a font of information too and so friendly, we went again the following Sunday! The best thing about this place is all donations are given to local charities... they are not doing it to make money, but to keep a little bit of our history alive for all to see & remember

So much more than just a watermill!
There is just so much to see and explore here - its way more than simply a watermill. Around every corner and in every cranny there are dir=fferent displays and exhibits ranging from a Model T Ford to a sellection of chimney pots! Mush is accessible for the less mobile and there is a childrens play room. You could easily spend half a day here so its great that there is a tea room. Whats more the whole enterprise raises money for charity. Well worth a visit and the volunteers who staff it are very helpful.

A fantastic display of history. One of the best museums we've ever been to and certainly the best value. Lovely friendly staff. Beautiful home-made scones and cakes in the cafe. Absolutely well worth the visit. Don't let the small access road put you off. 10/10

Extremely friendly staff gave us a warm welcome. Very interesting displays which varied from heritage trades to transportation together with insight into the milling process itself. Delicious homemade cakes and cream teas available all at a reasonable price with much of the revenue generated going to charity. Highly recommended.

I took a group of 52 to visit The Mill after a few hours in Watchet. The weather was perfect and The Mill with its Rural Museum was such a find. We were welcomed like friends and treated to a talk from Yvonne (with help from husband Charlie, who had created the displays over the years) giving us so much background information about the various exhibits. We had plenty of time to explore the four floors of the Mill itself, with the Wheel turning all the while, and to wander the pretty gardens with fascinating nooks, then treated to afternoon tea and cakes (made that morning by Yvonne). Definitely would recommend a visit here.
