Delivering a sense of wilderness within an urban environment, visitors to Sutton Park can enjoy the captivating scenery, using an accessible network of paths. There are opportunities to enjoy walking, jogging, angling, nature watching, orienteering, play areas, restaurants and use bridle paths and cycling routes in the Park. Car parks are located at all the main entrances and the Park is linked to a variety of public transport routes.Sutton Park is an historic landscape that covers an area of over 2,000 acres and attracts over two million visits every year.In 1997, English Nature designated Sutton Park a National Nature Reserve and it is also a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).Lying six miles to the north of Birmingham City Centre this landscape is a mosaic of open heathland, woodlands, wetlands, marshes and seven lakes each with their own rich variety of plants and wildlife, some rarely seen in the region. It is an important site for wildlife and conservation, containing fine examples of natural countryside that have survived for hundreds of years. These habitats are part of a working grazed landscape where cattle and wild ponies can be seen grazing during the year. This park is a natural area where animals roam freely. Please wash your hands with soap and water before eating or drinking.

I visited the park just to kill some time between appointments and ended up spending hours there. After walking for a little way I discovered a Toby carvery on the outskirts of the park which finished the visit perfectly. Excellent for disabled people with plenty of places to have a rest and all the main paths are paved.

Took grandchildren and they loved the play areas and the donkey sanctuary. Good place to take children or just to have a nice walk through the country

Superbly beautiful in any season, Sutton Park is a vast park covered with wide swathes of moorland, ancient woods, wetlands and hills. It is popular yet serene, and an excellent location to geocache in. Particularly recommend Sutton Park for disabled visitors as much of the park has accessible tarmac trails that are excellent for wheelchair users, though some of the... More

Love coming to Sutton Park in the Summer and Spring. Great for walking, cycling or a pub crawl. We often start at Town Gate and venture north towards Four Oaks or west towards Boldmere. Miller and Carter restaurant near Boldmere Gate

Sutton Park is 2400 acres of natural moorland and woodland with seven man made lakes. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty and it is very easy to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life by walking off the tarmac roads and exploring the many paths which encompass both moorland and woodland. With very little stretching of the... More

Highly recommended. Serene and beautiful. Perfect for a stroll with friends. Has a nice restaurant on site. Also areas for children to play on. Amazing how we have such a vast parkland in a busy city.

Beautiful park well kept many trails and things for kids to do play areas are well kept and great for kids, you have Blackfoot bistro for a spot of lunch or a coffee and cake but can be a bit pricey.

We often park our car at Banners Gate and walk into Sutton Coldfield centre. We grab a coffee and walk back. Around 4 miles in all in lovely surroundings. Our grandchildren love the play area at Banners Gate and there is a tiny refreshment booth there too.
