Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Think of Butlins and you'd expect at least some of the attractions to be operating.
Went for the Giants of Rock music weekend. Music was great. With up and coming bands and some more mature rock musicians. These included CRAZY World of Arthur Brown (Yes he performed 'Fire'.), Hawkwind (with Dave Brok), Stray and many others.
Accommodation was clean and had all the advertised facilities. Unlike the resort.
It appeared to me that everywhere that was open was intended to extract money from punters. Plenty of bars (£4.10 pint) and eateries serving mediocre meals at high prices. One exception was SPLASH zone with flumes and tapped off no go areas in the inside pool. The water was cold and the air was colder seemed to have switched heating off as the session was coming to an end. Oh yes, the session when the pool was open, was on the Saturday from 10:00 to 14:00. Suppose we were 'lucky' it was a short time slot or we would have suffered frost bite ?
Music enjoyable, resort unwelcoming and run down. I felt like a cash cow that was incarcerated in a dank yard.
Butlins needs to up it's game if it wants to attract returning customers.

Had a great day.Saw Teletubbies for my 1 year old granddaughter. We managed to watch the patomime. We felt the times were not as long as we hoped for as we had to be out for 6pm, so we didn't have time to go swimming. The young rides didn't allow an adult to go with her, she wouldn't go on her own and they had no safety belts for her to sit in her own. That was only the down side.

I visited Butlins Skegness for the day on 1 September 2019 with my daughter, her partner and three grandchildren aged 1, 3 and 6 years old. We enjoyed our day which cost £102 for our party. We went straight to the swimming pool and was admitted immediately. All the children spent time in the pool areas suited to their age groups, it really is a great place. The staff are friendly and helpful. Lockers are £1.00 and this is refundable.
After swimming we went for lunch and ate at the Beachcomber restaurant and ordered meals for 3 adults , 2 child portions and 6 drinks costing £55. This is just pub food and we all ate up, then the adults watched the children play in the outside play area whilst finishing their drinks. We set off towards the funfair but whilst walking through the main tent the entertainment on stage captured the children's attention and they enjoyed watching the Red Coats show.
On our walk to the fair ground we saw the old monorail train that used to run around the original Skegness Butlins site, which brought back memories'! The childrens funfair rides are at the back of the bigger rides and all the children loved the teacups, the cars and the airplanes. Finally our last stop was to the Indoor Play area housed in a separate building to finally wear the children out. We had not pre booked the session but as it was not too busy so our children were allowed to play.
There is so much to do at Butlins for small children. If you can afford it it is is a great day out.

Visited with a 14 year old,11 year old,a 9 year old and 8 year old.

We had decided before we went that we would have game of crazy golf when we got there.

Now bearing in mind that for 6 people it was £120 to get in for all of us for a day pass, we found the crazy golf and it was £3.50 per head! Nope ! I have just paid £120 pound to get in not paying an extra £21.00 to play golf as well!!

Then we went to the fair rides , there were a few rides that were ok but after been at fantasy island the day before made them look like tea-cup rides in comparison.

Lots of queuing for rides.

They had carts but again you had to pay...

We then went swimming and that was it , that was all there was for the kids of that age, they didn't fancy the teletubbies show!

Unless of course you wanted to spend more money in the arcades!

This is better for smaller children but the price for a day pass certainly doesnt match the activities.

Then we went swimming , and that was it!

Also you cant even stay for the evening entertainment, you have to leave by 6 !!
Rubbish! Save your money and go somewhere else!

We are in our 60’s and took our grandkids age 5 and 7 for the day at Skegness .Had to spend a few minutes queueing for each ride at the fairground but overall wasn’t too bad.
Didn’t attempt to get into the swimming pool first thing as the queue was enormous. Went in the afternoon. Although very busy we had a great afternoon and the kids enjoyed the flumes etc.
Had lunch at the Pub and Kitchen which was was pleasant as it wasn’t too busy. Fed ourselves and our grandkids for £31 which we thought was ok for a pub lunch, but there were plenty of other outlets supplying sandwiches, burgers etc. Parking was easy and there were plenty of spaces.
All in all a great day and would recommend a day pass as a treat for the kids.

Me, my husband and 2 kids (1 & 11) did the day pass. Paid online for a Monday, so was cheaper. Parking is a £1 donation to great Ormand street 😊 you can go back and forth to your car too.
Never been before and we will return.
We spent 3 hours in the pool my eldest and husband did all the slides, they really enjoyed them! Yes you have to queue but don’t you always, still worth it. I did the river rapids which takes you outside. Yes the water is colder than the pools but it’s outside, it was sunny and so much fun that you don’t notice once you get going! The queue for this goes super quick as at least 8 people go at a time!
We ate at one of the bar/ restaurant (a bit like a spoons) it was expensive, £40 for 3 meals and soft drinks. I was expecting this though, next time I will bring a packed lunch.
We did the soft play, you need to book but we didn’t know this and as quite they let us in.
Fun fair was nice too. We found a few rides to be free, carousel and animal train. The go karts are £6 each.
We didn’t go everywhere sadly as our main intention was to use the pool all day, so next time we’ll have a good explore.
I would recommend this is family’s 😊

Visited for the day as part of a works conference. Butlins organised the event very well and the staff were very attentive. We were given lunch at the restaurant which was tasty and very good and had the use of the facilities if we wished afterwards. Overall, very good
