Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I spent a couple of hours here today. Janet and Steve were excellent; they took their personal time to show me around and educator me about the building. We discussed it’s current status and future. It was a very worthwhile experience and when I’m next visiting from the USA I’ll be sure to visit again. Thank you.

We are privileged to have such an iconic building which takes you back in time. Care needed as steps are steep.

After having lived in Rotherham for 45 years I finally visited this amazing chapel on the bridge. It has some wonderful history enthusiastically told by the volunteers, a beautiful more modern stained glass window and tea coffee and biscuits to top it all. We thoroughly recommend a visit.

A good place to visit for anyone interested in local history.
After being welcomed we had an illustrated talk followed by tea and cake. We were 8 ladies of a certain age but most of us managed to descend the few steep steps for an optional visit to the cryp, where we could see graffiti carved into the stone wall by former prisoners.

My husband and I visited the Chapel yesterday. We’ve been meaning to do it for years but always missed the opening days.
It was well worth the wait, the volunteers were friendly, knowledgeable and so welcoming.
We visited the crypt and heard the stories about the prisoners and how this linked to the history of other venues.
I’d really recommend a visit, every visit will be different as each of the volunteers has a different story, they very much add their own personal touch.

I've always wanted to see in the Chapel on the bridge.
Visited today with my sister who moved away from Rotherham over 30 years ago.
We both enjoyed our visit and all the volunteers were both helpful and knowledgeable.
I will certainly revisit and also recommend to family and friends.
Thanks.

I visited today with my children on what was one of the chapel's open days. This meant we were able to climb down the old steps to see where the jail area may have been. Once guided down the stairs we were met by another guide who was very engaging and told us lots of history about the place, I especially enjoyed the stories behind some of the prison graffiti. Very interesting and the guides/volunteers were extremely welcoming to everyone.

A lovely little Chapel, with a lot of local history. Built in 1483. Which is Beautifully restored, which holds Holy Communion every week. The Friends of the Rotherham Chapel, are enthusiastic and have a great deal of knowledge about the history of the Chapel. I can highly recommend visiting this historical building, it has various open days throughout the year.
