- Chris S1 contributionChristmas experienceWe made the trip up from Leicester following a recommendation. We took our 3 year old daughter and it was certainly worth the drive. Very well managed, hardly any queues for rides, and the workshops, train and grotto were amazing. Real breath of fresh air to visit a place made for kids and feel as though we really had value for money.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 3 December 2023
- Susan L3 contributionsFantastic Christmas experienceWe have visited today for the Christmas experience. All I can say was it was amazing from start to finish . The kids had an absolute amazing time , all the staff were happy and went out of their way to make it magical for the kids . I would definitely book for next year . A great start to our Christmas.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 16 December 2023
- Hayley J10 contributionsOutstanding Christmas Experience!Outstanding Christmas Experience! We’ve been a few times to make use of the splash pads and loved it then but having made an impromptu decision to do something for Christmas Eve this one looked the best value for money and availability. I’m absolutely floored by the effort put in by every single staff member of the Christmas experience. I have never been to such a well thought out and well executed experience like this. This (fingers crossed) will be our new Christmas Eve tradition we absolutely LOVED every minute of it! Huge thank you to Pippa Woods our head elf who made it all the more enjoyable!Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 24 December 2023
- JaneSheffield, United Kingdom10 contributionsFun day out with the kids!Excellent day out with the kids! Traveled from Sheffield to visit Clifton park with the kids over the Easter hols! It is fab! It's like being at the seaside. Rides, crazy golf, arcades, amazing playground, museum, ice-cream and even a land train. Rides are excellent value for money. The kids had a great time, never disappoints! Even when they lose at golf. 😂Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 2 April 2024
- NatalieSheffield, United Kingdom49 contributionsThe ReytonsClifton Park in Rotherham proved to be an exceptional venue for The Reytons' all-day festival. The park's spacious and well-maintained grounds provided an ideal setting for the event, accommodating the lively crowd with ease. The atmosphere was electric, enhanced by the abundance of food and drink options catering to all tastes. The park's layout facilitated smooth movement and access to various stalls and amenities, ensuring a comfortable experience for all attendees. Overall, Clifton Park showcased its versatility and charm, making it a fantastic choice for large-scale events and live music. I hope they do more.Visited July 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 7 July 2024
- SamAnderson1987Wakefield, United Kingdom436 contributionsA good day outA great day out for all the family. Parking area at the top (museum) end is much bigger. Prices for the fairground are very reasonable and the splash park is OK for free! The only thing that let's this place down is the splash park toilets. They're absolutely disgusting! The ones up at the cafe/museum are much cleaner. Beware the food truck/icecream van only takes card payments. Parking cost just over £5 for 4 hours.Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 31 July 2024
- Amy P11 contributionsFab day! Amazing staff!!!Not much variety for older kids in the rides section, but they still loved it on the Pirate Ship and Dodgems. The staff were amazing, the young lad working the Dodgems was fab! Really friendly, joking with the kids and good at what he does! Also, the two girls working the trampolines were lovely, and really attentive with my daughter. Thank you.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 4 August 2024

Coming from Barnsley we don’t really have a park like this, there’s something for everyone, lots of play equipment, water park that’s free to enter, sand pits, lots of open space to take a picnic/football and you’ve the museum. There’s also some rides which goes on a token system but it is really reasonably priced mini golf, ice cream counter and normally during the warmer months there’s a burger van. We love coming to Clifton park and have fetched children all of ages from babies to teens, it’s nice to also just have a walk around. The only issue is parking, if you go on warmer days/ half term then you can be driving around a while before you can get a space. It really is a great park that you can spend hours there.

We've not got much to crow about in Rotherham but after visiting Clifton Park with our toddler on a nice day, I was left wondering why we hadn't visited before. It was a real trip down memory lane but the rides and slides were much more modern and elaborate then those I remember from my childhood.
You buy tickets so you can pay as much or as little as you want. The Clifton Park museum and water pool is also free and there's swings and various park associated equipment so it really is a cheap day out which is obviously a high priority for any proud Yorkshire person. Our trip was only soured by our toddler having a major apocalyptical tantrum after we refused to let him get naked in the pool.

Great place to stop for a few hours with the kids on our way home from York to London. The kids loved the roller coaster and the bump cars, we bought the £22 pass which lasted us a few hours - just enough! The gardens are huge, the burger shop was good and the queue moved fast. The only minor annoyance was the half hour queue for the toilets, including the mens! Dog friendly as well which was good for us.

There seems to be an influx in children on pushbikes lately when walking my dog late evening. It is beginning to get difficult to navigate around the quantity of bikes racing around the park, I have almost had my dog hit by the youth's on bikes and not always by accident, some of these children seem to find it to be some sort of fun challenge. I do understand that children have to exercise, however within reason and under supervision of responsible adults (of which i'm yet to see).
Also I have noticed some disgusting people have been defecating within the wooded areas of the park, which to stand in is not pleasant but dogs seem to be drawn towards it, if there is a fine for leaving dog droppings in the park can we have the same enforcement for whichever scruffs seems to think that this is OK.
There seems to generally be a growing lack of the respect for the park, this has been shown by not only the above mentioned but also the misuse of the bowling greens to play cricket, have picnics etc., climbing the rare magnolia tree and the plain ignorance towards the off-limits areas of the play parks due to the current (COVID 19) pandemic and just pulling the barriers down and using them anyway.
Although this is nothing new I am becoming growingly disappointed to see that nothing seems to be getting done about this by the park authorities and it is seriously making me reconsider my choice of dog walking spot in order to keep myself and my dog safe.

Honestly cannot believe how rude the staff are, we purchased a fun pass for our little boy (3 years) who has autism, I asked two members of staff politely if I could have a time to return to the ride as he struggles in queues around lots of people as he doesn’t understand the concept, and it’s overwhelming. All other parks have accommodated this even if it’s not standard practise as part of making them accessible for all. However the staff just shrugged and said “they have to queue like everyone else” I asked again if there was any way we could come back in ten minutes and get on (the queue wouldn’t have been that long) and she shook her head saying “they have to queue like other kids”. Obviously I understand he has to wait his turn, I was looking for an alternative way of waiting that allowed him to still enjoy the rides which he loves going on, but not have to be stared at in the queue for getting worked up, trying to run away and screaming.
Parks are meant to be accessible for all. My little boy was devastated when we had to leave. Thankfully the credits were refundable but that doesn’t take from joe rude the staff were and how upset he was. We tried to queue with him but it was far too distressing, and he couldn’t understand why we couldn’t ride.
Accommodation for all needs to be made.

Visited here today as a stop off picnic point on our journey elsewhere. We chose here as it said on the website it had the largest free play area in Yorkshire. This is not true at all. It was rather small with very little for toddlers to play on. Our local park is largesr than this, and also visited others in Yorkshhire much bigger than this. The slide tower looked fab but even my 9 year old couldn get up it without help. We did enjoy the mini golf which had water through it that the balls kept going into. My 6 year old loved fishing them out with his net which made his day.
There was a splash area that looked good but unfortunately the weather was too chiily for this. There was also a fun fair with approx 10-12 small rides that required tokens which were reasonably priced compared to other places. We woukd have liked to visit the museum but it closed at 4 so we missed out on that. The gardens were nice to walk around. Also we left to carry on our journey at 5.30 and would have liked to use the toilet before setting off but they were all closed.
We did enjoy our stop off but were a bit underwhelmed by the play area. It is a nice free park but in comparison to other free parks i have visited i would say this is average.

Usually love Clifton Park, the playgrounds, the rides, the water splash etc but 2 vile, nasty, feral boys ruined it for us today. Your parents must be so proud! I’m guessing they were between 9 to 12. It started when they started picking on my 7 year old and splashing him which I asked them to stop doing. They then started drenching me. They followed us and continued to goad us. They then went to the toilets, soaked a lot of toilet roll, rolled it tight and then threw it at me as hard as they could. I asked them where they got it and one of the delightful chaps replied from his Mums F***y, disgusting! I told them to leave us alone and got called a fat b*****d, charming. They continued to follow us and taunt us. They were scaring and upsetting my boy. I asked a near by attendant to warn them off and have a word with them and he ignored me and couldn’t have given a monkey’s, nice attitude from your staff! His answer was to condescendingly question my age and motives for reporting them. I asked the boys where there parents were and they said they came alone, why wasn’t I surprised, leave your kids to go and do what they want. After a while, we finally managed to lose them but later heard a man yelling loudly at someone and surprise, surprise, it was said kids upsetting and tormenting someone else. They were actually throwing rocks at the ride attendants and then running off. They kept returning to goad and abuse the ride attendant until he chased after them. Not so clever now were you!? They still managed to sneak back and sly back to the playground. When they finally left and they saw us watching them, they proceeded to make rude gestures towards us with there hands (w**k**g) sign. How lovely, disgraceful and disgusting kids and parents and an attendant who couldn’t care less but what else did I expect! What a world we live in 😞

We have been coming for yrs but today's experience was poor. The main gripe is the car parking. The pay machines were out of order with the only opportunity to pay was RingG0. My husband tried several times to phone but eventually a message said his account had been frozen(never had one). Then I spent ages downloading the app to pay and that was refused. This was happening to dozens of families trying to do the same, most of who decided not to pay. We then drove all the way round the area to another park entrance where one machine accepted cash. It should have been on the website informing people of the difficulties.
The park toilets were filthy as well with no staff monitoring the numbers going in or cleaning them.

Are you allowed to pitch up tents in the park to test them to make sure all pieces are there (not to camp)
