Very disappointing visit, with all the technology it could be made more exciting, wouldn't recommend.

Steel works are a huge and very important part of our history and I'm so glad children can learn about what's now sadly our past, however most of the fun educational activities are poor and many don't work I would definitely recommend a visit to anyone of any age but don't expect a full day out I'd say 3 hours... Visited Friday with 2 x 8 year old grandsons with a view to planning a school visit (I am a Science teacher). Didn't spend long there as it was very cold and too many of the activities were not working. Also the café area was a mess due to lots of people attracted by the boxing so moved on rapidly.... More

I've just spent a morning at Magna with my 8 year-old grand-daughter & my 5 year-old grandson, & I think it's fair to say we all had a good time. There's a good variety of things to see & plenty of opportunities for hands-off activities, which are both educational, & most importantly fun. Operating the diggers in the 'Earth' section... More

Visited with my grandson who has been before and loved it. However this time he was disappointed. Some the activities weren't working, and although it was half term we want realised there would be school groups there, most were well behaved and not a problem. However there was a large group of older students who were loud and ill mannered.... More

We went as a family group, 2 year old, 5 year old up to 63 year old. All found something to enjoy. We were there nearly 4 hours. Can see us going back with the grandchildren over the years as there will always be something for them to enjoy. Our ticket gives us access for 12 months so very good... More

Took 3 young granddaughters, aged between 4 and 8. They thoroughly enjoyed the day, especially the water area. Lots of interesting things to do and to try, but granddad got the most out of the fact that it was to show off how the iron and steel industry had a place in Sheffield's history. He was fascinated by the cranes,... More

We were a group of two grandparents, dad and two grandchildren, a girl aged 8 and a boy almost 6. We arrived at 11:00 and left at 16:00 when the attraction closed, having had lunch in the café, and a drink before we left. We by no means saw everything. The attraction has both inside and outside elements. The outside... More

Big..........only when you see the place you realise the scale of the industry of the old steelworks I was surprised how few people were there after a while I realised why it was so cold inside I'm guessing when they made steel heating wasn't an issue....😉 but the fire zone was a godsend warmth at last I didn't want to... We took our son and granddaughter for the day and despite the cold we wrapped up accordingly and really enjoyed it. There are 4 areas inside, Earth, Fire, Air and Water and our granddaughter enjoyed the Water and Earth areas more as plenty of interactive things to do. We also enjoyed the Big Melt demonstration in the Fire area, which... More
