Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Parked in the village car park and started our walk at the church. On to the Main Street where we called at the village shop. There is a tearoom and a couple of pubs along with the post office. Nice walk along the lane behind the cricket field and past the windmill house. Went on to Wentworth Woodhouse and eventually up to Hoober Stand. Lovely walk.

We parked in the main car park to do a geocaching adventure around this village, which we visit often. The walk took us to some places we had not seen before. The village is unspoilt, a real estate village as you can tell as all the doors are pained green. There is a small post office, tea shiop and pub, two lovely churches, the old one especially worth a visit. There's a nearby garden centre, but the cafe there is always busy. Wentworth Wodhouse is a short walk away too, and worth a visit.

Stayed overnight in The Rockingham Arms. (Separate review). The village is well worth walking around, so historicallly preserved, almost like a film set, but not precious. The Village Tea Shop is quaint and quirky, staff friendly, and exceptional value-pot of tea , about 4-5 china cups worth, £3.80. Great base for local sites of interest such as Hoober Stand and Wentworth Woodhouse. Will definitely return.

Lovely village, well worth a walk through if visiting the Big House or the superb garden centre.

Not a massive amount to see but the Old Church is definitely worth visiting as is a walk down the High Street admiring the little residential squares and their beautifully tended gardens.

Coming from Hoyland I had difficulty finding somewhere to park as the village car park was closed (which we couldn’t understand as people are encouraged to get out for exercise in lockdown). Eventually parked in the garden centre car park as we saw other walkers doing. Enjoyed a lovely circular walk around the village and beyond and did have take away drinks from the garden centre cafe after our walk.
