Open 7 days a week 7.5 Acres of inspirational Gardens £6.95 admission (under 14's Free). Gravel Garden, extensive Nursery and Tea Room all free to gain access. The Beth Chatto Gardens began in 1960. From an overgrown wasteland with poor gravel soil and boggy hollows, using the principles of ecological planting, it has been transformed into 7 acres of informal garden comprising of the Gravel Garden, Water Garden, Woodland Garden and Scree Garden all harmonising with the surrounding countryside. The gardens are an inspiration to anyone who visits them - the art of planting at its best.

There is also an extensive Nursery with choice of over 2,000 different kinds of mainly herbaceous plants and bulbs.

Light and spacious Tearoom with homemade cakes, light lunches, breakfasts, fresh ground coffee and selection of teas.

The Beth Chatton gardens are beautiful laid out with flat walkways all around the garden and ponds. Tea room on hand for refreshments as well.

Brilliant for unusual plants. Adore Beth Chatto's garden. It was my Mums favourite as well. .. I've been visiting since the 80s and always come away feeling inspired.

My wife and I visited for an impromptu coffee and cake. Not the best I've visited, but perfectly presentable with friendly staff.

Not at all impressed with the dining here, there are far better and cheaper in the area. The location is nice, but food prices and plant prices are way overpriced

Definitely recommended for keen gardeners, there are a number of interesting plants to see at Beth chatto gardens. These are beautifully arranged in zones, including a stunning pond with some magnificent plants growing in and around it. There is also a very well stocked shop and a pleasant area for a drink and a snack.

fantastic dry, gravel garden and also wonderful water gardens and woodland. Always worth a visit at different times of year. Very educational but also great just for a stroll. And then buy plants suited to your garden conditions.

Beautiful Christmas market, I can't wait for the next one! Such a great mix of stalls and entertainment- my son loved making up his own Christmas plant and we got some lovely handmade Christmas decorations. Would definitely recommend.

The only hot lunch left was supposed to be a chicken and leek pie . Very runny served in a type of cup with a pastry lid , with very well done roasted vegetables .
