We could have spent all day in this museum but only had 2 hours so a return visit is essential. Great deal of thought has gone into the layout and displays. Wide variety too - a must if you are visiting Carlisle

We went to see the exhibition of drawings and paintings by Cumbrian artist Percy Kelly which was excellent and took the chance to look around the whole museum. An excellent place with exhibits from the Roman times to the recent past.

Definitely worth a visit. If you have half a day, it's great, but it is also worth to go if you only have an hour or two. Great opportunity to learn about the long history of Carlisle from the Romans lived there, and up till...More
