    Fantastic day out!
Haven't been here for 10 years and so glad we decided to go today. Took my daughter, nephew who's 2 and plane mad and we have had an absolute brilliant day. Easy to park, plenty of space to play/sit and watch the planes, good play area and a few rides, trampolines and bouncy castle. You pay £3 to use the rides which isn't that bad and the play area and swings are free. We ate from the cafe, panini and chips, hotdog and chips that were throughly enjoyed and a good price. Lovely clean and tidy area and to watch the planes all day has been fantastic. Only had to pay £12 for the parking all day which is superb for a day out as if you took ur own picnic and didn't eat from the cafe that's all it would cost! Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

    Visitors Beware
Despite being open 7 days a week you should not assume that all their attractions are open 7 days a week. We booked the hotel for our trip 6 months ago as part of our car club tour of Cheshire and the north only to find that the Nimrod tours and Concorde tours were not available on the day of our visit. To make matters worse, the Concorde hangar was closed with all windows blacked out. How can they brag about these attractions when you can't even see them? Mega disappointing.

A great day out for all aviation fans
A fantastic day out here despite the rain and wind. Great under cover areas to avoid the rain with plenty of seats. The cafe with loads of tasty food and plenty of seating too. The chargeable Concorde tour was well worth it and highly recommended. A definite day out for all aviation fans for sure.

    Perfect for Plane Spotting!!
Perfect area for plane spotting. Incredible views of the runway and terminal 1. When the planes land, they taxi directly in front of the viewing platform making for an excellent photo opportunity. The aviation park itself is good however it is a shame you have to pay to go on any of the planes (including just seeing concord). I would certainly recommend!!

Tony & Dave on reception saved our twins birthday!! 🎉✈️🎊🎂
After one of the wettest Julys on record threatened to deem our twins 4th party a washout, Tony & Dave couldn't have been more helpful or accomodating. The cabin was perfect for pass the parcel & party food and our twins were delighted with their very own happy birthday shout out from the tower as we watched the airbus land. Enormous THANK YOU , highly recommend for a memorable kids party with a difference 🛩️🧑‍✈️💺✈️

    Fun little day out
This was such a fun day out for the family. If you’re looking for something different, this is definitely it. We saw plenty of planes, coming and going. There’s a lovely little park and small fairground. Only thing I have to say is the parking, cafe and fairground prices aren’t cheap. I would recommend taking your own picnic, there’s plenty of benches around the fence to just sit and watch. We spent around 3 hours here and the kids loved it. Definitely worth a visit

They don't make them like they used to!
My son and I took the Classic Nimrod Tour. It was fantastic! Our tour guide John took us round the outside and inside of this military aircraft, explaining all the various pods and sensors, and the many crew workstations on board. He made it come to life with his knowledge of the aircraft and stories from the Falklands and Gulf wars and more recent history. There is so much to learn and appreciate about this marvellous aircraft. Just the smell of oil, leather and electronic components inside took me back to visiting the aircraft at St Mawgan as an air cadet. They don't make them like they used to! Special mention to Louise at Reception too :-). Highly recommended tour experience.

    Good day out
Great for plane watching & lovely play and picnic facilities Took a 5 & 3 year old and they loved it.. Downside is there is a bouncy castle, trampoline & train ride. The first 2 things cost £3 each for 5 mins which I have to say is a rip-off. Don’t mind paying but think that’s a bit ridiculous. Don’t know how much the train cost as I wasn’t going to pay for a 3rd activity.

A great day out for aviation fans of all ages
We booked in advance for the one hour Concorde experience for a Sunday morning in august. We arrived early (car park is £5 for 2 hrs - £10 for 4 hrs - 2023 rates) but if you have booked a tour the parking is included. We took advantage and watched the 9.30-10.45 arrivals and departures from the viewing area which was great fun. The cafe offers drinks, snacks etc at average prices. Their is a great gift shop for the enthusiast. The runway park ‘atc tower’ gives commentary of aircraft movements. Our Concorde experience tour started at 11am. The lady at reception was extremely helpful. We enjoyed a short video of Concorde before entering the hangar for photo opportunities as well as boarding the aircraft. The two staff who gave us cockpit and cabin information were brilliant with lots of information and anecdotes. What really made our stay even better was meeting up after with one of the staff at reception who gave us personal anecdotes of his airline career. We could have stayed and listened to him for hours and hours. Overall a brilliant time and well worth the money. Would we visit again? Without doubt yes !

    Absolutely WONDERFUL day out!
My wife bought me the platinum tour as a birthday present. I haven't enjoyed a day out as much in a long time. We flew from Ireland just for this. It is INCREDIBLE. The Concorde is SUCH a wonderful piece of technology and it is a shame to see it grounded. Unfortunately I cannot remember the gentleman's name who led the tour, but he was an ex-pilot and an absolute FOUNTAIN of information! If you have even a slight interest in Concorde or aviation I would highly recommend it! We found the Café to be reasonably priced with a good selection. Theres a lovely little gift shop with lots of aviation paraphernalia and models. The only sour note (not the park's fault) was Uber. Couldn't drop the pin on the map as to our location (it kept defaulting to somewhere nearby, to which he went). We told him where we were but he wouldn't budge. I will never use Uber again. A lovely man on the admission booth to the park gave us the number of a local tax firm, who arrived within ten minutes. But the only sour note on an otherwise brilliant day out!

Although they have several old aircraft here, I wouldn't call this an aviation museum. It's actually something pretty unique in the UK. They have four complete old aircraft, most significantly a Concorde (G-BOAC) plus a Nimrod, A Avro RJX (BAe 146), a DC10 Cockpit and forward cabin section and last but not least a Trident airliner. You can pay to do tours of the aircraft. I attended as part of an organised tour and so visited Concorde, the Nimrod and the DC10. The guides are all very enthusiastic and knowledgeable and despite having had previous Concorde and Nimrod tours elsewhere, I still learnt new information.

It also has a large viewing area for Manchester airport runway. This is a very busy airport with all sorts of modern airliners and the occasional visit from some more unusual cargo aircraft. There is also a flight simulator available you can book goes on.

It's very much a family oriented venue with a playground and fairground on site too plus a restaurant/café with various food on offer.

It also has a well stocked aviation gift shop.

The car park is chargeable and although this may seem expensive at first, there is no entry fee other than the car park so in that light it becomes a bit of a bargain. If you are able to come by public transport then it's a very cheap family day out. It's definitely recommended whether you have kids or not. If I wasn't four hours away I would probably be a regular visitor especially when there are interesting aircraft visiting Manchester.

Generally a great idea for an inexpensive day out.
But they need to sort out all the muddy grass.
It’s an absolute mess and would be a better experience if they could replace it with something more suitable.
Was like a mud bath.

Enjoyable and very detailed tours of the Nimrod and Concorde, outside and in. The guides were very knowledgeable and showed us all over both aircraft. We even sat in the pilots seats and took loads of photographs. Plenty of parking. Book for an early tour to avoid long queues to get into the park later in the day. See aircraft coming and going from the viewing area, the kids will love it. Thoroughly recommended.

What an absolutely amazing day had by me and my eldest son. The layout and facilities were amazing. Got speaking to volunteers Tony and Derek , who after learning we had travelled some distance to visit went above and beyond to ensure we got an amazing experience. Cannot rate this place highly enough.

We went for the guided tour of the Concorde which exceeded our expectations and the allotted one hour time. Tour guides extremely knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Great value for money.

What wasn't great was the rest of Runway Viewing Park. Car park a bit on the small side, three planes all closed up and barriers round, gift shop was ok but the cafe had very limited choice and was expensive and slow - took over 30 mins for two hot dogs with fries to arrive.

Decent view of runway and taxi way but not much else to see.

Tour of inside an aircraft including exploring the cockpit. Finding out about all the roles required for airport’s to function. Tour led by Steve who was brilliant. All children were included if they wished. Hats, caps, helmets, uniform utilised throughout. Steve was very observant of the children - who appeared shy or unsure & responded appropriately. 6yr old put hands to ears prior loud noise & was offered ear defenders immediately & with no fuss. Steve, we cannot thank you enough for noticing this was required.
We highly recommend this tour as a great day out for under 7’s.
Tour included standing up close to Avro RJX

Bring wellies to change before letting them wild in the very muddy play area (which allows full sight of the runway)
Clean toilets; large cafe; expensive gift shop but Concord was never cheap.
Well worth the ticket price.

We (mum, dad, adult son and teenage daughter) visited for the Concorde tour. Our guides were Sandy and Carol. Sandy did the majority of the tour, she spoke clearly, smoothly and was really knowledgable. Both ladies were friendly and informative.
Overall we found the experience interesting and enjoyable.

Booked to visit Concorde. Really informative tour, and got to go into the cockpit as well. We took so many photos. We were lucky and saw the Airbus A380 land and take off too! Cafe offered plenty of drinks and snacks. I could have spent all day there! Louise at Reception was helpful and friendly and told me to mention her in a review which I’ve done!! 🤣
