Due to Covid restrictions only part of the Sanctuary is now open. precautions were good - sinks for hand washing were available as you went in. Time slots for entrance had to be booked so that not too many people arrived at once. There is a one way system in operation. We were able to see into the big barn, also see the miniature donkeys and one more barn where the donkeys were in an area just outside.…

We were so lucky that the Donkey Sanctuary had just reopened after being shut due to Covid 19. We had not visited for some years but love this place as we are very fond of donkeys and I had a pet donkey as a child. There was good free parking, no entrance fee, wheelchair friendly, dogs are welcome, lovely memorials in the grounds, great gift shop where we spent money to support this very worthy Charity. You can also adopt/sponsor a Donkey. Good cafe. Plus of course the wonderful Donkeys are lovely. We will be back. …

What a wonderful morning out followed by a very nice lunch in the restaurant. Very orderly and safe the whole time. It was a Monday morning local term time so not busy which was nice. The donkeys look very happy, content and well looked after. The whole place is very clean with good toilet facilities. You can make a donation at any of the secure money boxes dotted about and buy items from the well stocked gift shop to support this wonderful cause. I can't quite understand an old negative comment about money boxes being shoved under your nose? Nothing like that at all. (Some people are only happy moaning I guess). We ended our visit with some very nice cream teas and sandwiches in the comfortable restaurant. The kids loved it and it fulfilled a very big wish for my wife to visit who is just donkey mad. A wonderful day out. Can be done properly in a morning or afternoon. …

Had a nice day. My kids love this place and have done for years. Many parts have restricted access but that’s understandable during COVID-19. It’s nice to see this charity continue the the great work. More commercial than it once was but I suppose that’s understandable when they are trying to raise money to care for the Donkeys. Still free to get in you can’t go many places free these days! Very well organised during COVID and you feel safe. My kids are saying goodbye Donkeys see you soon which tells you we will return.…

Had a lovely visit today to the Donkey Sanctuary. It was heartbreaking to read their stories of abuse and mistreatment. The volunteers are fantastic and very knowledgeable, thank you to Ros for taking time to talk to us about the sanctuary and the fantastic work they do across the world to protect these beautiful animals. There is no entry charge so please please leave a donation so they can continue their good work.…
