Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wonderful weather in wonderful surroundings. Wonderful cricket too lol. Cricket how it should be played. Don't bother with Headingley, Scarborough beats it every time.

A must for cricket lovers - just a lovely ground and one of the best i have been to! Sadly the weather wasn’t very kind but we did see some cricket and the ground staff did well to get as much play as we did. The ground is hidden away in a built up away and is a little oasis and a lovely reminder of times gone by . Still with lots of the original seating and everywhere has a great view of the pitch - long may it be used for 1st class games :D

Travelled down from Durham City the first two days of the recent Yorkshire - Durham County match, which was lucky as the next two days were washed out! Lovely ground, edged on two sides by Victorian terraced houses, and large for non-County ground. Facilities were good, with plenty of beer and food available, and large, very clean toilets. Beautiful Victorian pavilion, too. There was even two faith rooms - first time I had seen them at a cricket ground. Extra attractions were seeing Sir Geoffrey signing books (well, sitting down being photographed by fans, mostly, probably to his annoyance), and the wonderful cricketing tradition of letting spectators on to the outfield during lunch and tea, so that families could play their own cricket games and swarms of cricketing nerds (me included) could congregate at both ends of the wicket and discuss whether the pitch would take spin later on, and so on. That took me back to my childhood, when that was common practise even at Lords and the Oval. Sadly, very rare these days.

Went over the summer for two of the Yorkshire one day matches. I really like this ground. I find it has a more relaxed atmosphere than Headingley. It’s great to see the kids are allowed to play on the outfield during the breaks.

I’d advise taking your food and drink with you (4 cans of beer per person allowed), it’s expensive inside the ground.

I’ll definitely be back in 2023.

Awful ground and bar staff can't pull a pint. So slow it's remarkable. They need training and ground totally run down. Won't be returning

With just staying around the corner from the famous Scarborough Cricket Club we just had to have a nosey. The ground is very big with a capacity of 11,500 which is bigger than some major County Grounds(Chelmsford, Essex comes to mind)
It is on our bucket list to visit the ground during a County fixture - COVID has put that on hold. I like the signage that Lords is only 190 miles away

SCG is a good venue however the lack of refreshments in the Trafalgar Square Stand (West side) was frustrating.
Yes the stand does have a basic toilet block but it has no bar or refreshments at the far end.
It was even more frustrating when I was informed by a jobsworth lady steward that I couldn’t enter the West Stand area to purchase an ice cream for my young child and if I wished to do so then I would have to walk back anti clockwise around the whole Cricket ground instead of her letting me past to walk to a stall that was less than 50 yards away.
I’ve been to Cricket Grounds all over the World and to be honest such pettiness is the kind of thing that really puts me off returning to Scarborough with my Cricket mad child.

Nice little ground in a nice town however the day was spoiled by jobsworth staff

Wasn’t allowed to sit in the deck chairs by the marquee even though there was nobody using hospitality either whilst both Yorkshire & Northumberland were playing nor during the interval, jobsworth staff moved me and few more on without any valid reason

As a result I doubt I will ever go back there, suppose it’s better to have happened today before I bought life membership than after
