A lot of people seem to knock the Scarborough Council these days but they do a great job in keeping all the parks and gardens to a high standard. Always a pleasure to come back to my roots and walk through them.

The whole of the south cliff area is Scarborough's most agreeable exposure to the sea. The Italian gardens are its brightest feature. For those averse to hill climbs, there is a frequent tramway service down the cliff nearby.

nice summers day which was rare on our 12 day visit to the region. We pass the gardens when walking down to the Clock Café and always stay a while sitting in the peace and quiet of the garden.

No. The Grand is in the town, the Italian Gardens are on the South Cliff. Cross the Spa bridge and you're on the South Cliff, 400ms and you'll find the Gardens on the left. Enjoy
