A nice place to sit and have a picnic in the ruins of a old castle unfortunately you can't get into the tower anymore I'm guessing they want to preserve it .. I did climb it many times as a lad shame can't get in nowdays but still nice place and views are amazing

Lovely walk with a historic castle ruins to visit. You can walk from here to Snelsmore which has great wildlife and more beautiful country to explore. Pack your family and a picnic. Dogs optional.

Great place for a walk or picnics. Amazing views on a clear day. Nice that the place is kept clean hardly ever see litter about.

A visit with grandsons on a lovely day was very pleasant. Great views and the boys ran around. We'd read the information board down at the parking area so some history could be included in the visit. Just an hour or so for the visit as the area is not very big. Plenty of space to picnic.

Great ruins and lovely walks around the area but you can't get inside the castle at all. Ideal spot for picnics!
