Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Been with J to Mayrhofen and L2A for a few seasons, very well organized and knowledgeable coach. So decided to join his CatBoarding at Macedonia as guinea pig as his haven’t never arranged Catboarding trip before. Overall it was great experience , off my bucket list, highly recommend!!

Hands down the best snowboarding trips are with Maverix! I have been going on the Powder hunters trips in Austria since 2017 and always have the most amazing adventures.
James is a first class coach and guide, he knows all of the best spots for fresh powder on the mountains and also all of the best local food.
We want for nothing when we are with him.
The only downside to the trip is when it's over but that's when you can book the next one and count down the days until you're shredding again.
Thanks to James and the Maverix crew I have memories and experiences that I will cherish for the rest of my life <3

James is a great coach! Very nice, patient, and organized.
I had 3 private freestyle park sessions and 2 flatland trick sessions this October at Hemel snow center and I have learned basic knowledge of shifty, box slide, and grabs (Mute &Method)
His flatland coaching session also improved my performance at the park, From straight line 180s on flatland to 180 jumps (almost 360 for the frontside) on a small kicker, from 50-50 on the box to the rail, there is always space for me to progress.
There are not only lots of snowboard and mountain knowledge you can learn from Maverix but also lots of fun things to do :)
Thanks again and looking forward to the Austria trip too.

My son has been doing freestyle for a few years on and off during the winter months but hadn't had any lessons for a while. I had been meaning to book a session with James as a friend had previously done lessons and a holiday with him and said how great he was, but we had never got around to it until this week. All I can say is that after the lesson I really wish I had been organised enough to do it sooner. My son (13 yo) was looked after brilliantly by James and James made him feel at ease. James asked what he wanted to learn and tailored the lesson to him, making sure he learnt lots during the lesson. He even sent us a great video afterwards. I would totally recommend James as a friendly, talented and knowledgeable snowboard instructor and we will definitely be booking more lessons with him. The 2hr lesson was perfect as it was intense learning and my son was tiring by the end.

Had a really great session at Hemel Snow Center with Maverix. I went with the intentions of wanting to improve Backside 180's. My expectations were totally blown away and felt a new found confidence with the trick. James uses video analysis effectively to show you how to improve and helps you focus on the specifics with memorable analogies.
It was a really positive experience and highly recommend for any level of rider. Thanks again.

I chose to go for one of James' summer camps in Les Deux Alpes and have to say that the whole experience was fantastic. James does a great job in pushing riders to improve whilst not being overbearing, so daily I found myself surprising myself by achieving things with my riding that I previously didn't I would be able to do. Outside of the fantastic coaching (which was regularly one-on-one or two-on-one), there was also a host of great activities lined up in the afternoons to do when we'd finished snowboarding to keep us entertained.
All in all I had a brilliant week; my skills came on a long way and I thoroughly enjoyed myself and James' tuition - will certainly be looking to come back again nest year.

This is a review for the Maverix summer camp at Les Deux Alpes.
I had previously been on a summer camp with Maverix (J) a few years back and was looking to get out to the mountains again this summer. I can say that these camps are excellent. whether you're looking for relaxed, fun introduction to free style riding or want to fine tune your performance riding you'll find it here all wrapped up in one awesome week...or 2 if you fancy it.
J's analytical approach to finding your weak points and working on them really does make a world of difference to how you feel and ride on the snow, using fun drills within the group you never feel pushed too far out of your comfort zone, but theres always progression and you'll be doing things you didn't think you were able to do very quickly.
It's not just about what you can do on the mountain, theres afternoon actives to keep you entertained some of which transfer to your riding on the hill. Or you can just chill and watch a movie and take in the beautiful views of the valley.
The 'camp' atmosphere and camaraderie makes these trips a real laugh, it really doesn't matter what your age, or background is, so if you were hestitant about going, don't be ... if you love snowboarding you'll love this.

As an semi experienced (70+days) snowboarder who was good at bashing a piste and comfortable but hot good at other aspects of riding I figured my days of getting significantly better were over.
I happen upon maverix last winter and jumped on a winter camp mayrhofen. Not knowing what to expect I was nervous about holding everyone up. Jay was great and tempered any fears by simply asking me what I was hoping to get out of the week (eurocarves obviously.. Duh!)
The week was awesome and I immediately jumped on board a summer camp in France and am currently ticking the days on the calendar getting ready for the first of two winter camps.
No amount of gear will improve your riding and therefore your enjoyment of the mountain as investing in yourself for a week.
Highly highly recommended.

Awesome training sessions for those who want to push their park skills forward but want to get the basic techniques as a foundation or smooth out bad habits that are holding them back. All levels catered for, from sketchy to dope af. Cheers James
