It's the one to lookout for when you're driving up the M1 towards Huddersfield from the south (J38). The tower is in Emley. You can see it for miles as it's an enormous tall TV mast with which is lit up at night to stop...More

I'd seen the Emley Moor Transmitting Tower several times driving down the M1 from Leeds, but didn't know what it was, so decided on a cross country diversion to investigate. Great drive up hill and down dale to get there (only 10 minutes from the...More

If this falls down it will probably land on our house so we live close by. Good spot to visit on a clear day to take in the views which can be extensive.

On a clear day can be seen for miles around. Not a destination land mark but possibly worth 5 minutes in the lay by to view the structure. Can be very windy.

This is beautiful construction, but on the day when we went there was no informationn centre and no admission. Worth getting out of the car, but not worth spending much time there - though there's a good farm shop and cafe nearby.
