Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Love the beautiful craft shop opposite the excellent cafe. Go there every weekend to write. Has exquisite leather Chesterfield sofas outside.

As we love the cafe so much especially the vegan and veggie food, we asked if we could use the back room for our wedding buffet and have all the things we liked from the menu. Blyth was fantastic, very accommodating. The afternoon was brilliant, the food, staff, wine, atmosphere all excellent. We took home what we could not eat which kept us in food for a few days !!! Highly recommend this cafe for any event, or just coffee.

Really liked the Byram Arcade, hidden away in Westgate. This is an eyecatching arcade over three floors, such a pity it is woefully underused. Should be the ideal place for independent and specialist shops. Easily missed as you walk around the centre, but worth seeking out for the architecture alone.

This quirky piece of architecture was not easy to find but well worth the search. It is built over 3 floors and has balconies all the way round on each floor. I seems to have been renovated in the recent past and has a modern passenger lift. It is unfortunate that it appears to be under used. This is probably not too surprising as the businesses and shops located here cannot expect to attract any passing trade.

Visited this architectural gem and was not disappointed. This is something for Huddersfield to be proud of. However, it should be better promoted or signposted. It deserves to be a busier space, well used and loved by the public. It's a shame for the businesses there that they are not in an area where there is greater footfall as it would be easy to miss. There is some lovely craftsmanship on display and affordable pieces to buy. Makes a pleasant change from chain store mediocrity.

I was in my home town of Huddersfield today when I went in to Byram Arcade away from the bad wether
Wow what a lovely gem it's like I was lost in time this is an old world arcade at first look & looks like it's in a bit of a time worp.
But don't let first impressions fool you as I looked round it's more like an aladings cave with some amazing little shops all look like 1 offs
This is the best arcade with no chane stores .
After looking round I called in to the little cafe that looks like it's spilling out in to the centre for a lovely coffee & a scone
Set in a lovely setting
With a warm welcome
Would I recommend it YES 100 %
Would I come back YES 100 %

Stumbled on this place whilst killing time for a train. Very attractive arcade with an arts and craft market on ground floor. Great coffee at ground floor coffee shop. Very independent and quirky. Regretfully not enough time to explore shops.

This place is lovely, it's so worth popping in and having a look at all three floors. Blue Rooms café is amazing and there are plenty of vintage bargains to be had. I wouldn't recommend the vintage shop next to crafty praxis, the lady there made me feel like a criminal under careful observation both times I visited! Maybe it's just me...

Byram Arcade is a beautiful old building just around the corner from the train station. Such a shame it isn't given better publicity by the council. It has many shops in there, which are mainly specialist shops there is a dance wear shop which has been there over 23 years, theres also vintage shops jewellery arts and crafts nail bar hairdressers and a café a few clothing shops too all special in there own way. Such friendly staff.
