Folkestone Cinema - Old school charm and character
Jun 2021 • Couples
I've been going to Folkestone Cinema since I was a child and I now appreciate it more than ever. When you visit the large chain cinema's you have to endure hours of adverts and trailers, at Folkestone cinema this is kept to a minimum. It also had a real old school charm and character, with a good view of the screen's. Please support your local cinema or we will lose it forever.

Wonderful cinema
Feb 2020
We love coming to the Silver Screen Cinema whenever there is a film we want to see. Although small, it is nice to be close to the screen with an excellent view for a much cheaper price than chain cinemas. Sadly it cannot show all films at the cinema due to only two screens, they have a large variety suiting all genres. Definitely worth visiting if you want a cheap day out.

I’ve been twice so far but I’ll definitely go many more times. Customer service was great and amazing quality for the price of it.

Charming Retro Cinema.
Sep 2019
A beautifully maintained retro cinema, spotless too~ staff obviously care, are always friendly & smiling. The gorgeous rouge decor makes you feel cocooned on the comfortable seating, which you can choose, & prices excellent £VFM. Shows the latest films. Recently visited for 'Once Upon...' (Ohhhhh. Brad Pitt!), the big screen visual quality & surround were tip~top. I'm also a member of the Silver Screen Club, Thursday mornings, great place to meet up with fellow film enthusiasts. Please continue to support your local cinema, or we will lose it.

All the top films
Jul 2019
The operation has a lovely charm to it and I would hate to see it replaced with a multi-national cinema complex with no character. It's local, it's friendly, it has current films and is excellent value for money - long live Folkestone Silver Screen!

Lovely local cinema

It is like the old cinema experience, very friendly, good films and it does have a Thursday morning cinema club. In the centre of town so easy to get to and reasonable prices.

Lovely cinema with great staff

Went to see the fighter as filmed in Folkestone. There was a bit of a queue but plenty of seats inside. Cheaper than multiplex at Ashford with a charming interior.

We really enjoyed our experience at the"movies"! Lovely decor in the cinema, first time in years we been to any cinema. Good service at the ticket counter. Expensive sweets but we expected that. Enjoyed the double seat , never seen that before but we do not go very often.

A Cinematic Gem frozen in time
Apr 2018 • Family
This little cinema dates back to the late 1980s but feels like it's much older. I first visited as a child to watch Gremlins 2 but have recently revisited as a parent.
There are two screens, the larger having a balcony which is available for an additional fee. The smaller screen really is cosy, more like a big living room, but that's part of the charm.
There is a well stocked refreshments counter too.
Well worth a visit and much better value than the chain competitors.

A Nice Date Night
Apr 2018
My partner and I went to see a movie a couple of weeks ago and this was my first time at Silver Screen Cinema. I thought it was really cool because it felt like we were sort of transported to another time. It's a vintage 2 level cinema with a balcony, seats are comfortable and overall was a nice experience.

Tickets reasonably priced, snacks expensive.
