We thought we'd pop in for an hour or so as my 4 year old loves trains, however we were still there 3 hours later! It's small but there's so many little bits to look at and the children 2, 4 and 6, loved that there were so many things to touch and try. All the staff we met were... More

This is truly a wonderful place. The team of volunteers do everything they can to make it fun and interesting-not only for children but for adults as well. We paid £18 for an annual membership for a family of 4! How can you argue with that? We have just been to their magical halloween event and we all loved it.... More

Off the beaten track but well worth seeking out. Some local history on display, a craft stall area, small cafe, a nice working model of the Eurotunnel terminal, a miniature train ride and various other things going on made a pleasant few hours for me and my kids. Very reasonable entrance fee also and just a nice place to visit.... More

We called in here on the way back from a weekend in Dymchurch. From the moment we arrived and met Kevin, every one couldn't do enough for us. The railway museum was absolutely brilliant. Our son aged 7 spent a lot of time playing with all the buttons and signal levers. Some really interesting local history, and a sit on train complete... More

Very attractive, hidden away and peaceful but plenty to see and all very professional. Very friendly staff. Price too low, underselling an excellent attraction.

Tucked away at the end of a lane in Peene, near Etchinghill, this little museum and craft centre is well worth a visit. A word of warning, though, this is not an actual station on the old Elham Valley line, it is more in the way of an imaginative reconstruction. In the large car park there are various decrepit-looking items... More

We popped in on Bank Holiday Monday (it is only open weekends and Bank Holidays). Very reasonable entry fee and pay an extra pound for a trip on the miniature railway. The volunteer staff do a fantastic job, very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. It is a short trip on the railway, twice around the lake and back to the station. There... More
