This was my first trip to Scotland, and this tour was the perfect way to experience Scotland and learn about its history, see key landmarks and witness its beauty. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable as well as very friendly and accommodating.
Our lodging was very comfortable, and the meals were delicious. Our tour guide knew exactly what he was doing and stopped at many little known places for a view or an experience I could have never found on my own.
I would recommend this touring experience for anyone visiting Scotland.

I had such a terrific time on the tour. I cannot believe how much I was able to see and experience, from the beautiful lochs and picturesque landscapes to the unique small towns all over the country. Some personal favourites include the Quiraing on the Isle of Skye, driving through the Applecross Peninsula, the Glenfinnan Viaduct, and exploring Inverness.
The accommodations were spectacular! Each had its own charming qualities, and had amazing menus for our meals. If I had to choose a favourite, I would have to say Clan MacDuff in Fort William; it had such a beautiful view and I enjoyed walking along the loch in the evening (not to mention the amazing sticky toffee pudding in their restaurant!).
But what really made the tour was our guide, Terry. Not only was he incredibly kind and fun to be around, he has such an immense wealth of knowledge. Terry is a natural storyteller; he spoke in a very engaging way about so many things, from history (neolithic, medieval, and modern) and culture to local trade and wildlife. He also made a huge effort to make sure we were enjoying ourselves and to show us some spectacular parts of the country we would never have known existed. He made the experience so special.
I highly recommend Best Scottish Tours. I had an amazing time with the small group, making it an engaging and personal experience getting to see this beautiful country.

Best Scottish Tours provided a wonderful tour for me and my daughter! Starting from Edinburgh and heading into the Highlands, our experience was magical! Our driver was experienced, knowledgeable, and told wonderful stories about Scottish history and culture. Our accommodations were great, and our meals were delicious. We loved visiting the Isle of Skye and all the castles.

We had Colin as our driver. He was fantastic and an incredibly knowledgeable tour guide. We were able to simply point at landmarks and natural land formations and Colin could tell us the name and history of it on the spot. Beyond his knowledge, he was highly accommodating. He booked us an extra distillery tour and allowed us to take as much time as we various things in our itinerary. We even got to hike up portions of Ben Nevis. Colin also was one of the most confident drivers I’ve ever been with. As American we are not used to the small and winding highland roads. Colin handled all of them with ease and I never once felt in danger. If I come back to the highlands, which I do plan on doing I will 100% be utilizing Best Scottish Tours.

Our experience with Colin our tour guide and driver was magnificent. He went above and beyond his job. He was professional excellent driver and was accommodating to our interests. And we very much enjoyed his company at our dinners and while touring.

My husband and I recently went on the "8 Day Best of Scotland Tour" and had a great time. It was a private tour with only the two of us and our driver. All the hotels that we stayed in were very comfortable and the food selection at dinners was wonderful and delicious.
Our driver, Peter, was very personable and informative. We had 2 days of crazy rain and flooded roads in the middle of the trip. Peter was able to take us to different sites and navigate around to get us where we needed to go.
Scotland is a beautiful country and there are so many sheep in every field you see. We chose not to do the Royal Mile on the tour as we had come to Edinburgh a few days ahead of the tour and saw it on our own. Instead, Peter took us to Culross, a lovely little town and site of some Outlander filming.
We had also added in the Clava Cairns, a Bronze Age burial site as it was very close to the Culloden Museum we went to and I really enjoyed seeing the standing stones there.
We highly recommend Best-Scottish-Tours.co.uk and would use them again. We initially chose them because friends of ours had toured with them twice and raved about how wonderful the experience was for them.

My daughter and I toured with Best Scottish Tours with guide Alan for the ten day tour in October 2023.. We had a wonderful trip. Seen such beautiful parts of Scotland.. Spent two days in Isle of Skye which I would highly recommend.. The Inn’s we stayed at were all very nice, and accommodating, food was delicious, people were friendly, and had gorgeous views. I got to see almost the places on my “Bucket List”
Our driver Alan I would give five stars.. he was very attentive to us, helped with our bags, safe driver, friendly, made sure we hit all our destinations on our tour, and added a few he thought we would like to see, which were beautiful, and we were so glad he did. we were there during the bad storms and he made sure we were safe, when there were detours, etc.
I would highly recommend using Best Scottish Tour’s.

The Best Scottish Tours lived up to their name! We recently completed their 12 day Outer Hebrides, Neolithic Orkney &Highlands Tour and I can highly recommend this trip. From the breathtaking scenery to the fascinating history, every day was an adventure. The small group size made touring easy and fun. George, our driver/guide was definitely an asset to the trip. He was a great storyteller and was so knowledgeable about Scottish life, culture and history. He was also very accommodating to our requests and altered the itinerary to suit our group. He also added memorable sites that he knew we’d love to see. George made a fabulous trip even better. We look forward to a future adventure with the Best Scottish Tours.

My daughter and I booked our tour with Best Scottish Tours in August 2023 and it was absolutely the best. Our tour guide was Alex Grey and he was brilliant. Our itinerary was amazing and we learned so much about the Scottish landscape and history from Alex. The tour van held six of us and I must say there was not one negative thing from any of us except that it had to end. Our hotels were very good, especially, The Coal House Hotel and the Pitlochry Dundarach Hotel. The food and service was excellent and the staff went above and beyond to serve us. The Scottish hospitality was lovely. The Highlands and Isle of Skye were
too beautiful. It was amazing how Alex manipulated the van on such small roads. We would have never seen as much if we had tried to drive ourselves. We loved the Jacobite Train ride and the Ferry ride to the Isle of Skye. The Eilean Castle was one of our favorites. We loved seeing the Hairy Cows and all the sheep on the countryside. We enjoyed The Singleton Whiskey Tour especially the tasting portion. The purple heather was all along the hillsides and absolutely beautiful. It was a somber day at the Culloden Battlefield, but a must to visit the Visitors Center to learn all about the history of the battle. Alex was full of information and a delight to be around. If you have any doubt about touring with Best Scottish Tours, do not hesitate to book with them.

We had the most amazing 4 day tour of the Highlands and Isle of Skye with Best Scottish Tours. Our guide, Terry, shared a wealth of historical and cultural information with us and made our mother-daughter vacation very enjoyable and memorable. The scenery, accommodations, significant landmarks, charming villages and delicious eateries were perfectly blended on this tour. We want to explore so much more of this beautiful country and can’t imagine booking our next tour with any other company!

Is there a way to get laundry done on the 10 day tour?

Hi Susan S,
most hotels have a laundry service and on the 10 day tour there are a couple of 2 night stays during the tour where it is possible to get laundry done, normally laundry is done during the day as many smaller hotels don't have night staff.
Once your tour is booked, we would check with the hotels on the way to make sure it is possible to get your laundry done - I hope this answers your question. Regards. Karen.
