There is a lovely walk along the river bank(our dog enjoyed the beach) and seeing the impressive Birnam Oak and some of the other old trees is worth the leg stretch if you're in the area. We parked on the Perth Road and it was a short walk (10 minutes) from there to the Oak but you you'd be better off incorporate seeing the Oak into a longer stroll along the River rather than just stopping to see it.

We enjoy walking across the bridge to Birnam and along the river Bank. Lovely wee beach area by the Oak trees.
Some interesting plaques to read up on.

Always worthwhile to take a little detour to see a natural piece of living folklore! With all the bad weather it’s very muddy, but still great to see the oak and sycamore.
