More
Wyndcliffe Court Gardens are Grade II listed and designed in the Arts and Crafts style. Designed by H. Avray Tipping, friend of Gertrude Jekyll and Editor of Country Life magazine, they were completed in 1922 and are probably the best example of their type in Wales. With sculpted topiary, a sunken garden, a summerhouse, walled gardens, fountains, lily ponds and a bowling lawn leading on to wooded walks, they are a national treasure not to be missed. Now open to the public on a regular basis, they are showcasing contemporary sculptures by local and well-known British artists. The collection features hundreds of sculptures in a wide variety of mediums, sizes and styles situated throughout the garden and offering the opportunity to view and purchase beautiful sculpture with an outstanding backdrop.Open Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays from 11am - 6pm. (Also opening Wednesday to Sunday in July and August) Annual entrance to the gardens is £6 (pay once and return the rest of the year for free!) Discounts for pre-booked group visits and coach companies.

This was a smallish house and garden that had many sculptures dotted about for sale. The gardens were nicely laid out and very attractive. We were told the place was closing for good a few days after our visit as they had lost their lease.

We visited Wyndcliffe on Saturday 17 September as I attended a year and a half ago and so really enjoyed my first visit. I was very disappointed that we had to pay £6.00 each and only to find that half the number of sculptures were...More

Gardens had been sadly neglected for a considerable time but one could see that they had once been beautifully designed. Did not like the overpriced often rusty sculpture in such a setting. The cream tea was excellent and sitting outside in beautiful sunshine with a...More

Visited after a friend recommended this garden and we were not disappointed. The house itself is beautiful and the grounds are complimented by the many sculptures. We actually purchased one and they were very helpful in arranging delivery as Dennis the dragonfly was too big...More

We had an amazing afternoon tea with a great range of sandwiches, baked treats and scones. Very good spread, with good choice of teas. Also brought out complimentary vegetarian sandwiches for one of our guests. Gardens are beautiful and worth paying the money for. All...More

We have been to the Open Air Art Show for a number of years and have bought a couple of art work for our garden. It also has a tea room serving High Tea. It is a shame that the business will relocate and that...More

Lovely informal gardens, some stunning sculptures and a wonderful view over the Severn bridge. Lovely peaceful and relaxing atmosphere despite the Welsh weather.

Heavy rain took the edge off this visit which had been planned before we knew the weather would be bad. Really enjoyed the sculptures which were placed in attractive locations amidst the flowers, on the terrace and in the woodlands, but were all priced beyond...More

We had a Travelzoo voucher for a visit here and arrived at lunch time; we had a coffee and sandwich in the tea room - originally the house's ballroom - which were very tasty and served by pleasant staff. There are only a couple of...More
