Enjoyable browse

Enjoyed looking through the eclectic collection of books whilst visiting the Hay on Wye festival this year. If you need an Amiga A500 manual - there's one here!

Lot of used books, mainly novels and textbooks. Hard back books are 1GBP and paper backs are 50c. All proceeds go toward the restoration of the castle.

After a fabulous morning at the book festival where we listened to Bridget Kendall, war correspondent,we headed to this wonderful venue. Very quirky ,so interesting but well signed sections,a large wall map to assist, enabling us to find the books we needed. Librarian was most helpful.... Pleased to hear how busy she had been, obviously enjoys her job. Thankyou for the welcome,we... More

This was a particularly lovely bookshop with very helpful staff. It was perhaps not the biggest but was laid out well and it was easy to find the sections I was interested in.

In this world of planned, armchair, Internet purchase, it's fun to browse, outside in the fresh air, standing up and randomly happen upon a book you never knew existed. Try it!

we were told you had to go to this town and this store in particular, yes it's got books, but unless you can't find a certain book online or you have a passion to look at books all daylong, there are far more interesting and unique things to do in the area

I almost missed the castle's honesty book store because you can't see the book from the entrance. I found a nice copy of Thomas Paine's Common Sense for 50 pence. Really charming and if you climb the stairs and turn the corner there is another area for the honestly book store and a charming craft beer pub.

I love Hay on Wye! For a bookaholic like me it's a perfect place to spend a day just browsing amongst the myriad book stores, both ancient and modern! Good places to have a cuppa and a cake, or a proper meal too! Car parking is about 10 minutes walk from the town, so easy to get to and from.... More
