We walk, run, sail and cycle here. What's not to like about this beautiful spot? The sailing club is superb and, for the energetic, try and cycle on the road from Buxton, around the reservoir and back into Buxton down the Old Macclesfield Road (essentially a dry riverbed as a surface). If that's all too exciting, the walks around Errwood... More

Great walk around Fernilee reservoir. Including swim for dog at the end of the walk. Very pretty in autumn colours on trees. Other walkers very friendly. Mixture of woodland and open country.

We also visited the ruins of Erwood Hall, the former home of the Grimshawe family who also once owned the Cat and Fiddle pub. Well worth visiting but I believe the pub... More
