Went to see Catherine Tate live at the civic. Venue is pretty big, and fine for a show but if you start to look around you realise how it needs a revamp inside. Fairly dated interior, upstairs back wall of bare brickwork looks like a work in progress and needs plaster and paint. Security seem to enjoy confiscating sealed bottles... More

I recently visited the Wolverhampton Civic Hall for a David Essex Concert. This was the last night of his final tour. The doors were supposed to open at 7.00pm, the support act was due on at 7.30pm. At 7.25pm I was still waiting to get through the doors. Due to the delay many people missed some, if not all of... More

I visited on 27th Nov to see David Essex's final concert of his tour. They opened the doors too late so the queue was very long . We waited 45 mins to get in. It was freezing cold. Staff were rude. We missed most of the support act due to the poor organisation. We were sitting on the second row... More

In all my years of going to different theatres all over the country this was the worst.. Security who spoke down to people, who were rude and overbearing, doors opened just 20 mins before show despite the queue going round the block so first act was missed by most going. People being allowed to take alcoholic drinks in the actual... More

I recently visited Wolverhampton Civic Hall to attend the last night of a tour by David Essex. Firstly the doors were not opened on time, lengthy queues of people had to wait in the freezing cold for a long time to get into the building, resulting in many people missing some or all of the support act, an excellent singer.songwriter... Where do I even start?!!! The security were officious when unnecessary and inept when needed. My friend Julie had an arrangement with David and his management to accept a table from our group the DEGC. Despite countless requests, she and her small party were refused entry. We were forced to queue, something I never had to do in all 45... More

David Essex retired from touring this year and his final concert was held on Sunday 27th November at the Civic Hall Wolverhampton. We we so excited and sad at the same time to be attending this memorable event. Well as a large group of fans we had a few special presents made for the main man and had made arrangements... More

Loved the concert only draw back was a surge of people from the back towards the stage and isles which then blocked all exits for myself and others felt so sorry for the ones who had front seats as they were forced to stand in a very squashed environment all this took was a few extra security staff and not... The Civic Centre is an old 1960's building, with an almost industrial feel to it. It brings top performers to Wolverhampton, which is great and the staff are very helpful. However, getting in and out is a bit of a nightmare. First of all, the doors don't open on time so you are queuing out in cold. There is nowhere... More
