- Paul K10 contributionsGreat ExperienceIt was my 56th birthday, we usually visit Doncaster. We tried something different a visit to Wolverhampton races. The travel is double the journey. The racing in November is National hunt compared to flat racing in Wolverhampton. Wow I was blown away, the Wolverhampton restaurant was fantastic, the service 2nd to none, we both enjoyed the menu, it was Christmas themed, the food was delicious. The tables are well spaced, seating comfortable, windows panaramic. Great views of everything, just in case a TV monitor, covering each race built in. There were 9 races, tiwlight coverage under floodlights, a singer who rocked the venue. To be honest it's the best hospitality experience I have enjoyed. I have been to grade one courses Kempton park, boxing day, York, Dante meeting, Doncaster, paid 10 times the money per head, Wolverhampton races wins. Fantastic value, best food, great entertainment and experience. I will visit again soon.Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 17 December 2023
- Karen G31 contributionsHorizons at the racecourseWhen you arrive it doesn’t look great old 1970s building tired on the outside. But we booked hospitality table in horizons. The menu and food was excellent. The service was 5 star they couldn’t do enough for you. Everyone was really friendly. I have had hospitality at racecourse from Ascot to York to name a few but Wolverhampton was the best I had. Would advise anyone that wants a great dinner and a bit of fun on the racing to go. Well done WolverhamptonVisited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 March 2024
- John C35 contributionsA really friendly racecourseA really nice compact and friendly race course with a hotel next door. It was our first visit and it definitely wont be our last. The staff in the bar were very efficient and drinks prices were not extortionate as they can be at larger courses. An enjoyable experience.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 24 March 2024
- Jason L1 contributionLove Dining at DunstallDining at Dunstall was excellent value for money. Copious amounts of food and a great place to watch the racing. The staff were lovely especially Jackie(MBE) who made the day for us. We have been a few times now and always have a good time. Very well run course and good facilities. It's fast becoming my favourite racecourse to visit. Bloody good job!!Visited September 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 1 October 2024

Just writing in to inform of some concerns we had over the standard of service at the Horizon restaurant 13/11/21. We booked a party of six, four adults and two children to celebrate a belated 40th birthday after Covid restrictions were relaxed. We suffered numerous issues on this occasion. Firstly the started arrived and the kids starters were missing. After we had already finished ours still no sign of the kids food. Asked repeatedly and were told they were on the way. We then asked for the manager who went to the kitchen himself and brought out the starters for them. They waited over 30 minutes which was not really acceptable. Main meals passed without issue. Then asked for deserts in which the adult deserts arrived but no signs of the kids deserts. Again and again we were told they would be coming but no sign. Again the manager went to the kitchen and brought them out around 30 minutes after we finished ours. We ordered a bottle of wine and prochecco for the meal which arrived 30 minutes after we finished and only arrived after another supervisor got involved and brought them personally with more apologies. We ordered a second bottle of wine and two pints of larger, never arrived for an hour after multiple complaints, to be told yours are the drinks we didn’t know which table they were for. Towards the end of racing we ordered more drinks but we never got them. We did check the bill at the end of the night and they hadn’t been added so paid what we owed.
This whole experience did ruin the birthday celebrations overall as we felt frustrated during the whole evening. We have been so many times previously and spoke so highly of previous experiences that we decided this would be were we wanted to celebrate. After travelling to race meeting up and down the country for last 20 years this has been the worst experience. I do feel the whole experience has made us think twice about trying this service again.
We have emailed in our concerns/complaint but have heard nothing back.

Unprofessional staff members, only a handful of staff were polite & did their job properly. The rest of them didn’t have a clue or were too busy flirting with the race goers! The man in the flat cap was miserable & rude. The food was an absolute disaster from starter to dessert! Missing items on each course so even though different people on the tables had ordered the same dish the food served was completely different. We had to ask numerous times for our food. The Food was cold, drinks were overpriced & warm! We were a party of 50 quests dining in the horizon restaurant we used to attend yearly before Covid & always enjoyed the evening but we have all said we will never return. So AVOID AVOID AVOID! Only gave 1 star as couldn’t leave 0/5

We decided to attend an evening event, and taking my next elderly next door neighbour who don’t get out much, travelled there paid to get in and no race cards left. We had to spend most of the time indoors looking at the newspaper which most people was looking at. very disappointed.

Went to the races on Saturday night, Madness were playing and there was a huge crowd.
The atmosphere was amazing.
The venue was so well organised from, getting food, drinks and going to 'spend a penny'. The toilets were spotless which is a fantastic achievement at this type of venue.
Thank you Wolverphampton races, a lot of other racecourses could learn from you.

Awful Christmas party night. Started with the free glass of fizz by being told that they had run out 🤷🏻♀️ The food was just ok but the DJ was terrible, they had the football on big screens to kill the atmosphere and then left all the lights on for the remainder of the evening. £35 for a bottle of cheap Prosecco We left 2 hours before it finished, glad to get out of there and certainly not worth the £50 per head. Will never book again

We arrived at the racecourse just at a point it should have been opening. This was delayed due to an inspection so we decided to have a drink whilst waiting. I went for Bombardier but it wasn't available so shipyard it had to be. Well overpriced even for a racecourse.
The racing was given the go ahead and so the advanced tickets on my phone were shown to get access to the premier enclosure. Three machines later it actually worked.
Up to the premier enclosure and the first thing you noticed was how cold it was. Yes it was cold outside but the radiators weren't switched on and the little heaters didn't put out much heat.
The vast majority of people sat in a lounge all afternoon wearing coats, hats and scarves. This isn't ideal for the extra cost of premier tickets.
Who knows if we go again it will have to be the summer because we won't be putting up with that again.

I am sorry to read you were disappointed by your visit. As you may be aware the hospitality industry has been experiencing shortages of many kinds, and unfortunately the Bombardier was short on this occasion, we can only apologise for that.
I am sorry that you found the Premier Enclosure to be cold. We have experienced some issues with out heating and have temporarily rectified with this with electric heating, unfortunately this can not always be as effective. We are currently waiting for our engineers to be able to fix this issue.
I do hope you will consider visiting us again so you can experience our true level of hospitality.

Went for my Birthday night out .I was excited as i hadn't been to the races for a while.
Very Disappointed. For a race night experience very poor
Overpriced and in need of a makeover.
Cost £16 each to get in including a fulfilment fee !!
£9.50 for a small portion of Chicken Curry served in disposable plate
£5.50 for a dry overcooked sausage roll
Cheap branded beer served in plastic glasses
£6 a pint of Kingstone Press.
£3.50 for a Pepsi.
Not a cheap night out,
The whole place is in much need of a refurbishment. All areas are very tired , therefore not making for a good night out .
Will not be rushing back until this changes

Very expensive beer. One bar open. Queued for 25 mins for food (only place to eat) to be told they had run out of burger buns!!!!… hardly any choice apart from that. Ridiculously over priced. Made the effort to dress up a bit only to see men walking round in clothes like they had just come from working on a building site
