Went here on a weekday morning during English school term-time. Was not at all busy, great playpark and nice walks too. Cafe staff very friendly and helpful. Delicious traybakes and good coffee also. Great option if you are on holiday from elsewhere or have young children while the schools are still in as was not at all crowded then and social distancing easy to do.…

We visited as a family with a toddler. On a sunny day, it was extremely busy! Too busy, but I don’t know what the managers can do about that as there’s no real entrance or way to monitor how many people come in. The playground was packed with both adults and children making social distancing difficult. I had two problems with the visit. The overflow car park was difficult to find with no signage. When we did find it, there was no parking attendants. This became a problem when an entire row of cars were completely blockaded in by another row meaning dozens of families would have been unable to leave. Members of the public had to remove a barrier from the ground to allow a car to get out! I dread to think the chaos that will have ensued when other people returned to their cars to find themselves completely blocked in. My other issue was the health and safety of the two fairground rides. There were no barriers around the rides, meaning young toddlers like my son who know no better, could easily access the rides when they were moving. Serious injury could have been caused by a child being hit by a fast moving tea cup or Ferris wheel! I had to keep tight hold of my son around the rides, not something I want to have to do in a family friendly place where he should be free to run around and enjoy himself. The two attendants on the rides couldn’t have cared less and just smirked when I quickly grabbed my toddler back from being hit by the Ferris wheel when he escaped from me. I won’t be visiting again mostly because of the health and safety of the rides, despite how nice some of the other facilities may have been. Some barriers and gates around the rides to stop small children accessing them should be installed. …

Visited once just as lockdown was easing so not much was open but knew we had to come back when everything was back open. We had a perfect couple of hours this morning with my little boy who is 2. The children’s zoo, the park, the cafe and the groups were all beautiful. I’d recommend for a nice morning or afternoon with family. …

Came here on a whim and I'm glad we did! The little zoo was cute and the animals looked happy. Shame about some of the idiotic kids who were let loose by their dumb parents to start rattling fences etc without being told off. Apart from those idiots, all was great in there. The mini golf could use updating with measures to stop the balls from rolling out and removing leaves etc off the course. Tad expensive too. The gardens were lovely. Enjoyed them. The "rides" were expensive but oh well! Great place to go picnic. Entry free and to zoo. Worth a look. …
