Small museum devoted to Salcombe's maritime history which is typical of its ilk - staffed by a very friendly curator and jammed with, not stunning exhibits, but ordinary objects with a local back story and tales of human sacrifice and endeavour. All for £2

Small local museum with a mixture of maritime and local merchant history. Worth visiting for the history of Dartmouth and how the present street scene close to the river has been reclaimed from the river bed.

Worth a visit especially for the kids on a rainy day . The displays are carefully put together to really tell the wonderful story the museum explains .

A good wealth of treasures salvaged from ships that have broken up in the area. Worth a visit although it is very small. There are videos though and lots of information.

Spent quite a bit of time finding out about Salcombe's history in WWI and WWII and listening to locals memoirs...

Wonderfully helpful gentleman at the desk with a wealth of knowledge about Salcombe. A small museum, but packed full of interesting historical artefacts relating both to the town of Salcombe and its involvement in the war and its naval links.
