First class day out provided by Ollie and the team. Very good induction and good little boat for a full day jolly. I recommend you go with these guys if you want to hire a boat for the day. Great for novices.

First of all the swell on the sea was a lot worse than the sales person lead me to believe. On the website it states that you keep what you catch, this isn't true either, as I caught a mackerel it was grabbed by the skipper or his helper unhooked and thrown overboard and as anyone with a brain knows when a mackerel is handled by a human it dies shortly afterwards so I made a point of telling the boat people who told me that I was wrong and the fish wouldn't die, in rather a condescending disrespectful way which I didn't like one bit. So if you want to be bobbed about until you feel sick, have your tea thrown to the crabs and be spoken to like your dirt then this is the trip your after

Hired a boat with this company last year and throughly enjoyed our experience.
Unfortunately can’t say the same for this year! Sad to see the old owners have left. New ones were unfriendly and very rude! Sadly won’t be returning for a third year in 2024.

Hired a boat for 4 hours to explore the estuary. The boat itself was clean and in good order. We were given a very basic map and hurried instructions as to where we should avoid. At no point was it mentioned that there is a large area where the water quickly receeds with the tide. We inadvertently went into shallow water. By the time a boat arrived to move us we were stuck. The harbour master was summoned to tow the boat out and we were ‘fined’ £50 for the pleasure.

1 hour boat trip around Salcombe Harbour. Absolutely great! We explored all reaches of the expansive harbour and creeks. Beautiful scenery and interesting views of boats birds and landscape. Phil our pilot delivered avery interesting and interactive commentary - good fun! We were surprised by how much there was to see and learn. A brilliant trip - very enjoyable.

We hired a boat from Whitestrand Boat Hire and cruised up and down the Salcombe Estuary. Booking and collecting the boat was simple and everyone was professional and friendly. The boat was in excellent condition and the weather held up. We had a great time.

Half day fishing trip in Salcombe. Very efficient and friendly experience
The weather was against us, cold wet and windy but the friendly staff made the experience special

Fantastic time out on the water. We hired a boat for 4 hours (CAP4700) This takes up to 8 people so lots of room for our family of 4 and 2 dogs. Great service from booking to check-in. Great instructions from the team, so we were all set to go off. Would highly recommend hiring from them as it’s perfectly located, the boats are in great condition and it’s the best way to see Salcombe by water

We hired 3 boats from whitestrand over 2 separate days and had a brilliant experience and lots of fun! Clean and roomy boats, life jackets provided, easy explanations of what/where we were allowed to go along with the tide times to keep us safe and very friendly and helpful staff. Thank you team whitestrand! I would highly recommend this company.

if you dont mind me asking but how much did it cost for a week? Im going 4th July and looking for the best price for 1 week to use the boat for fishing but dont want to pay a fortune.

Hi,
No problem asking. We don’t offer a weekly rate, just a daily rate, which is applicable for as many days as you hire a boat.
If you look at our website, you can see our boats and prices listed.
Possibly the Fishercraft is best as this is the cheapest and most spacious for fishing.

You are welcome to rent a boat for as long as you wish. However, during July and August we do not offer a weekly rate, the daily rate would apply for each day that you have the boat. You can see a list of our boats and prices on our website.
Please do not has take to contact us should you have any further questions or wish to make a booking.

Never in our wildest dreams did we think that we would be out into the sea in control of our hired self drive [Puffin] motor boat when set out from Dartmouth to Salcombe, where saw Whitestrand Boat Hire, a very nervous Grandad with his equally nervous Daughter and three Grand Daughters were quickly put at ease by the very friendly staff. we all agreed that the freedom of the boat trip around Salcombe Bay was the best part of our holiday. next time we will book a four hour trip. every visitor should try it, it will make your visit even better. Grandad and family from Nottingham.
