Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We took our two grandkids and the oldest one( age 10) loved it. The youngest we hired a wetsuit out as he found the water too cold. ( sea water) They also provide a life jacket for everyone. Lifeguards on duty.Clean changing facilities. Great value for money!

Great for kids.
Wetsuit hire £5
Plenty of lifeguards
Everything gets wet in changing area so be prepared to go home in wet clothes.

Fantastic place, however the colour of the water was very off putting.
As you were getting in the water you had to be very careful as the steps were very slippy due to Algae.
We also booked to use the inflatables, the children really enjoyed it. They are 10 and 8 so really struggled to stay on, they ended up sitting out and watching others, and loved it

I would of had a good experience here until i felt a strong burning prickling feeling on my leg to which i then see a jellyfish!! It was very painful, i presume the jellyfish had got in due to the water being fresh seawater and had some how got through.

Incredibly murky water with very poor visibility (less than 5cm) and dark green in colour. Likely not well maintained. Unfortunately will not be going again. The sea in contrast outside of the lido was lovely and clear

We've been before and absolutely loved it, but this year (August 2022) the water was so cloudy that there was zero visibility in the water - even with googles I couldn't see my hand in front of my face. It's also not fair on the young life-guards to put them in a position where they wouldn't see a child under the water. There was slime on the walls, and the toddler pool looked completely green. By contrast the actual sea locally is so clear that you can see 6 foot to the gravel/sand below.
We felt some slack/dangling ropes from some of the inflatables which could wrap round a limb, constituting another hazard.

A great fun place to go for adults and children, water isn't too deep so not to daunting for kids. Definitely recommend.

We visited on Sunday to try out the inflatable course. Lovely staff everywhere, spotlessly clean everywhere too. We hired really comfy wetsuits and had the most hilarious afternoon's fun. It was shallow enough to stand up everywhere and had enough variation in inflatables to suit everyone. Lots of lifeguards making sure everyone was safe was reassuring and even the water was warm.
This was a highlight of our trip!

Would you recommend wetsuits for a swim? Or do people just wear swim suits?

My daughter wore a wetsuit, probably wise as you slide along the inflatables and water can get chilly. It’s great fun - enjoy!

How do they keep water clean

Salt water has natural anti bacterial properties, so less chemicals would be required.

Is Lymington Lido heated?

No, sadly it is not. However, you can hire wetsuits if required. Our grandchildren were having such a good time that they did not notice the cold water although, after about an hour, I had to drag them out for a hot chocolate to warm them up. Sorry for delay in replying. I have been away in Canada.

Are there lockers for valuables while you are swimming?
Kerry A

No lockers, there are chairs outside where you can leave your belongings on view. Just like if you were on holiday abroad around a pool
