About
Wightlink is the leading cross-Solent ferry operator carrying almost five million holidaymakers and Islanders to the Isle of Wight every year. We provide a vehicle and foot passenger ferry service from Lymington, a charming market town in the New Forest, to Yarmouth, a gorgeous historic town in the west of the Isle of Wight. Lymington to Yarmouth is our quickest and most scenic route for car passengers, with a crossing time of only 40 minutes. Facilities in both ports include a Costa Coffee serving drinks, rapid charging points (50kwh) for electric vehicles, ticket office, toilets and baby-changing facilities. Car parking and bicycle racks is also available. Three of our Wight Class ships serve this route. Whether travelling by foot or car, Wightlink’s modern, comfortable fleet provide spacious passenger lounges, sun decks to see the sights of the Solent, excellent food and drink options and easy to access facilities. Wightlink offers frequent sailings all year round.

This service could be improved if the staff would just manage the queue fairly. I arrived an hour early to be told there were 30 vehicles in front of me from the previous cancelled ferry. Lots of vehicles arrived after me and were let on about 20 to 30 and I was not invited to board on my booked ferry even though I arrived very early and there would have been plenty of room if the boarding staff cared about their customers.

Good Afternoon, I am sorry to hear about your experience crossing with us and I will certainly pass this information to our teams at the terminal. On days with cancelled ferries out team do their best to accommodate as many people as early as we can but sometimes we do meet physical restrictions. If you visit our website you will be eligible for compensation for the delays we caused.

My Review is for the Customer help line or call centre. I must praise a Lady called Tina
that has just helped me sort out my on line account and my wife's. Then helped me purchase Multilink tickets and e mail all the information through. She was patient and could not have ben more helpful. Excellent service

Organised and easy to use, if its new to you don't worry. We were slightly late, no problem at all. probably better than being early.

We booked a return ferry on Wednesday 29th September from Lymington - Yarmouth for a nice day out on the Isle of Wight with my 85 year old mother. Having arrived safely we got a text at lunchtime saying that our return ferry had been cancelled due to mechanical failure and we had been rescheduled on a ferry from the other side of the island into Portsmouth, Mike’s away from where we started. It was difficult to speak to anyone about this, or to download the app to look at other options available. Very poor customer service.

Best route to the Isle of Wight. Quieter, easy access, parking also available to save taking a car over. Train link also available. Clean and tidy, friendly staff.

We needed to change our ferry time and fortunately it was straightforward to complete online, although it did cost us an additional couple of £’s due to it being a slightly more expensive sailing. Check in at Lymington was a breeze and there’s a cafe inside the terminal building which has a good range of snacks and hot drinks etc. Boarding was quick and efficient and the crossing is almost over before you realise (around 40mins). Interesting to watch the ferry navigate through Lymington harbour as it’s a bit of a zig zag course. Seating is a bit tired and need of a refurb but you’re not long onboard before arriving at Yarmouth. The Solent crossing is the most expensive per mile of any sea crossing in the world but it’s a lot cheaper if you use Tesco vouchers.

After years of extreme poor service, impossible last minute alterations and hiding behind a seemingly non-existent customer service system I have finally decided to stop using whitelink. This morning I used the red funnel service, so impressed and they serve real food on their ferry. Even though this brings me to the wrong part of the island I am a convert. My bumper will never cross another wightlink bow!
