About
The Climbing Station is a bouldering centre in Loughborough run for climbers, by climbers. We know what makes a great indoor-climbing experience and we put 100% into making sure that you'll have an amazing day. We have over 800sqm of bouldering surface, covering almost every angle that you can possibly think of. We also have a top rope wall that can be used by both kids and adults to learn the basics of roped climbing. As we are only a 3 minute drive from the centre of Loughborough, and less than a 10 minute drive from the M1, a large portion of our site is dedicated to secure parking. Bike racks are also available.

Discovered this indoor climbing wall last year and now love going. Go regularly now and enjoy the overall atmosphere and feel its a friendly place to go. Good facilities and good size. Has a good range of different levels and also a belay wall to give a go. Staff are friendly and helpful. Would recommend this place and they also have a small shop area too. Good sized car park and if thats full theres plenty of on street parking near by that you wont have trouble with or bother anyone. This is now my go to climbing wall. Also handy it being not too far from Go outdoors too. However if you need any new kit they do sell shoes inside the little shop too.

We came here for my 8 year olds birthday party. It was great, they seem to do parties on sunday afternoons, you have to have the party in groups of 6 to an instructor (for safety). you need to pre-book, and pay about £30 for the instructor/group then about £8 per child attending (we had 6 kids). You also get free use of a room for food upstairs afterwards (Then venue does some basic drinks and snacks so you basically sort your own food, we nipped out and got a load of McDonalds for them to eat).
The instructors were excellent really enguaging and enthusiastic with the kids and teaching them how to do the basics of climbing through various games. The kids get climbing shoes to wear. They started off with some warmups and then low level wall climbing, then going up to the roof in a harness on a rope and absailing down, with the other kids looking after the ropes. They then got to do some more games on the main boulder wall. The kids had a fantastic time, were able to challenge themselves. In all they had about 90 mins of activity which was more than enough as they were exausted at the end.
For the adults you could sit on some sofas drink coffee and watch.
Perfect party, staff great.

This place is great. Hundreds of routes and can always find a place to climb without waiting or being too close to others. Levels are set accurately. The place is kept very clean. The home made cakes are a treat after a climbing session. The staff are friendly and helpful. Would recommend for friends and family, I am now a frequent visitor.

Having climbed with my stepson at the Climbing Station for over 6 years we have decided to move elsewhere. The staff frequently can be rude and unhelpful, something we have laughed about as a family over the years. Sadly the business simply hasn’t moved with the times and there are now far better walls in the area with more customer focus. The days of climbing walls treating customers as an unfortunate burden are way gone, something the Climbing Station doesn’t seem to have grasped. The Climbing Station is like a rude old relative you have to see at Christmas - a relic from a past era.

This place is fun but it is very dirty there are cobwebs all on the ceiling and the moulds that you climb on twist so that is quite dangerous and not enough staff but very big

I go weekly here as it is my local climbing wall - I got into climbing about 2 years ago and use a once-a-week climbing session to replace a gym session to switch it up.
The climbing station has an impressive amount of problems to have a bash at, and since I have been going here since I started climbing, I can personally say that the problems ease up in difficulty very nicely so that they naturally progress throughout difficulties.
The thing I love most about the climbing station is that they are forever changing not only the problems, but the walls themselves with new volume blocks being changed constantly. Its brilliant, and means that every week I go there, there is a new challenge that will catch my eye or something.
So for anyone who is thinking on having a bash at bouldering, give the climbing station a go - whilst it may seem expensive, you very easily find yourself coming back. And for the elites amongst you, this place has some ridiculous looking problems when moving to the higher levels or their infamous "wooden wall of death".
There is also a nice little fitness area including a pullup bar and 3 beastmakers, along with crusher holds which are all great for helping me progress. I always use the little gym area at the end of every session.

Took my 7 year old grandson for his first visit and he throughly enjoyed the lesson , staff are very good, knowledgeable and extremely patient with lively children 😳.
I would have given 5 stars but personally I think a couple less children on each session would have been better

A very interesting establishment ever since I left my uni days back in Loughborough. They have a range of difficulties for climbers for all different levels from beginners to hardcore climber. Would recommend anyone who loves climbing give it a go. For people who are more interested in ropes - lead or top rope there is only a small section where you can do that, this place caters mostly for boulderers.

Clean holds, well set problems that are changed frequently, and friendly staff. It really is excellent! Great that there is also a yoga class to go to.

Hiya, in terms of children, how old do they have to be before they are allowed to climb? I am a member but am looking to bring my sister and my niece and nephew. How would that work? Thanks, Lisa.
