Visited the bar for a spontaneous drink - ordered the gin flight which came with four generous shots of various Kirkjuvagr gin. We ordered some mixers to go with. The staff were very helpful and provided us with an info card to explain the tasting notes. The seating area is also modern yet comfortably laid out, with bar areas that have USB charging plugs. Also serves coffee and tea.

Great way to spend a cold wet October afternoon in Kirkwall after exploring neolithic Orkney. Very informative and enjoyable. Never knew gin was so easy to make in so many variants. Might set up my own still.

This was a very nice break from the whiskey tours to take in some of the best Gin I have tasted. The tour group was a good size and not overwhelming. Our guide was young but very knowledgeable and we learned so much. They have a quaint beer/drinking garden in the back where we could enjoy our cocktails after the tour.

If you love gin you will LOVE The Orkney Distillery. My boyfriend and I booked a gin tasting and tour of The Orkney Distillery in October of 2023. My boyfriend went along with me as a favor, as he doesn't usually like gin. Our guide gave an interesting history about gin, the aromatics, the Orkney Islands, and The Orkney Distillery. As soon as we began the tasting, we were amazed with the gin. Most of all, my boyfriend liked it. Throw all your gin expectations away as it is nothing at all like Bombay or Tanqueray, but on another level of its own merit. I have not a single complaint upon my visit to The Orkney Distillery - if anything, I can't wait to go back. A+ staff, A+ location, A+ customer service, and most importantly A++ gin. I think I have been converted!!! I was just a whisky drinker until I met Niall from the distillery who suggested I give this great gin a try. It is light on the tongue, rich in botanicals and delights every time. Perfect by the fire in winter and I look forward to when I can drink it outside on a summer's evening! Cheers

An excellent tour from Owen Griffith, a true asset to the company. We learnt an incredible amount about not just the Kirkjuvagr distilling process but how the local resources and traditions have shaped their company and their products. Owen was more than happy to answer all our questions about the area after the tour. The gin here really hits different to anything that you would have had before. An excellent bar area. Our expectations were high and they were exceeded by the location, the gin and especially the staff. Northwest Passage Expedition gin is a must try.

I booked on line and found that I had been the only person to book, so had the tour on a 1 to 1 basis with a very knowledgeable guide called Jen. I found the whole experience fascinating, especially the tasting of the four different strength and taste/ flavours of gin. I would definitely recommend this tour it’s definitely a marvellous experience!

As Whisky enthusiasts we really enjoyed the nice variety of Gin. Our lovely Tourguide Jen does a fantastic job. Great extra meeting Tony with all his spiecial knowledge and great visions for the future.

Top location, fine tour by Hannah, but Jen did also a great job, served, explained and what a hospitality. When you're in Kirkwall, this place is a must be. Besides gin, also tasted their first whisky.

This was such an incredible experience. The distillery is small and intimate and the staff are so connected to the product and passion that runs through the entire process. Our tour guide, Owen, was fantastic. A local Orcadian with a wealth of knowledge when it came to Orkney and the production of their spirits. He made my sister and I feel right at home and the tour and tasting was conversational, fun, informative, and delightful!
