We managed to book 2 seats on a sunny day, to fly from Kirkwall to North Ronaldsay and Westray & Papay. All together the flights took around 30 minutes, and it was a great program. You can enjoy the beautiful views and fly the shortest commercial flight in the world. Remember the purpose of the aeroplane is transport people among... More

Just arrived back from Kirkwall, (apart from captain) crews solo member Margaret, was friendly and professional throughout my flight. She was polite and well mannered and work continuously to ensure all travels were comfortable throughout the flight. As I was situated at the front work flight she made friendly chat throughout flight without being in ur face. Quick efficient flight.

Quirky but unique, is the World's shortest scheduled passenger flight between Papaw Westray and Westray. The flight is done in a Britten Norman Islander and you are able to see the same view as the Pilot as you approach the landing strips. Well worth doing and an absolute must for all seasoned flyers. Upon your return, you are entitled to... More

If you like Orkney don't miss flying to Papa Westray (Papay) in the North Isles. Stay the night on Papay and the flight cost is around £21 return. Get away from it all. Great fun, great views. You wont regret it!

Get out to the airport. No.4 bus. Inter Island flight to Westray and papa Westray. Czech in (yes he is), supermarket bags not suitcases weighed. Small 8 seater. Views to die for. Land a couple of times. Then back to Kirkwall having seen all of the archipelago. Finally presented with a certificate for the shortest schedule flight in the world.... More

some of the best views of orkney are from the air ,flying at only 1000 feet so you are close enough to see in someones garden. the longest trip is about 15 mins in the air. so next time in kirkwall do yourself a favour and take a ride to one of the outer isles. sanday would be a good... More

We took the 1530 round trip flight. We could not have asked for a better day - bright sunshine, blue sky and sea. Really great colours - let's hope the photos do them justice. The two islands we landed on Sanday and Stronsay were pretty un interesting. If we had had to spend time there they would have been boring.... More

Having got married the day before I didn't think anything could top that but Loganair did! (Sorry husband) We took the round trip from Kirkwall landing at Westray and Papa Westray thereby claiming another certificate - one that didn't have to be registered with the council! It was brilliant from start to finish. You have to try very early in... More

The sightseeing flight wasn't available, but the wonderfully helpful Loganair staff explained how it could be done. To start and finish at Kirkwall involves three flights and one has to find a space when seats are available on all three 'legs' (obviously). The flights run under a Public Service Obligation so those needing essential transport must be catered for and... More

One of our family had heard of the shortest flight from Papay Westray to Westray and so we planned a day to include it. We got a ferry to Westray and then the bus up the island to top to get another smaller ferry to Papay and then were on the island so that we could get our scheduled flight... More
