Kirkwall Harbor is quaint and colorful. I really enjoyed seeing and photographing the boats. Just across the street are several options for eat and drink.

We always enjoy walking in the Harbour areas. It was busy as there was a cruise ship anchored off the port. The seagulls sounded happy!

We were at he Shores Hotel. I love the ships coming and going, but an hour or so would exhaust this harbor.

A busy working harbour, also the arrival and departure point for the inter island ferries. Worth a walk around.

but at the same time the point where these ugly big cruising ships put their load over Kirkwall and you cannot walk anymore without using your elbows.

Thoroughly enjoyed a wander around the Marina whilst our Cruise ship was in port and providing tender visits/shuttles. A gloriously smaller harbour but lots of variety to be seen

I enjoyed exploring Kirkwall Marina, you are free to walk about just mind how you go as it is a working harbour. There are plenty boats to see all shapes and sizes I was especially pleased to see the Orkney Lifeboat.
