I also seek to offer you a comprehensive experience of Shetland, sharing the stunning beauty of the islands along with its rich heritage of history, archaeology, culture and wildlife.

We had such a great day with Kitty. We had the Unst tour which was beautiful and really interesting. Kitty is full of anecdotes about the historical characters who have lived on these islands. We learned such a lot and Kitty relates all of the information in an informal, lighthearted and engaging way. The weather was kind which made the day even better. The trip was well organised; coffee stops, lunch and ferry crossings all pre-organised so we could just sit back and enjoy. Only four on the trip which was great. I would highly recommend this as an essential part of any Shetland visit.

We booked this tour over a year in advance for our party of five as a day in Lerwick on a fifteen day cruise and what a great choice we made; it was definitely the best tour and highlight of our cruise.
Kitty is a lovely, vibrant guide who oozes knowledge and the love of her homeland. We learnt so much about the nature and archeology of the island and our hours were jam packed with information and stops throughout. We particularly wanted to see puffins and ponies and she provided wonderful photos opportunities of both.
We enjoyed ourselves so much that we are left with the desire to see the rest of the island; we shall return Kitty, thank you so much.

We had one of the best tours EVER with Kitty. She met us promptly at the pier, made us extremely comfortable all day. Her stories and knowledge of the history and archeology of the Island were interesting and entertaining. We have traveled the world, and I would place Kitty at the top of the list for local tour guides.

Kitty was fantastic. Even before our visit to Shetland she was quick about answering emails and any questions we had; we were provided information about the tour, the stops, and the sights. We joined several other couples from our cruise ship and had a wonderful day touring, and learning about Shetland. Kitty is very friendly, personable, and knowledgeable; it is obvious she loves her island, it's history, and her job! She gave us the history without being "dry" about it, she talked about life in Shetland, told stories wonderfully, and it was all fascinating! The tour was varied and extensive - including Shetland ponies and Puffins - Kitty was also very accommodating as far as photo stops. We travel a lot, we've had our share of tour guides, and can say without a shadow of doubt, that Kittywake Tours and Kitty are the Best of the Best !! Thank you Kitty for a fantastic day !!

Kitty gave us a fabulous day in Shetland. She made the country alive by mingling history with the present in Shetland with a dose of fantastic stories and fun. Honestly I didn’t believe all the great testimonials but I can now say they were all true. This was one of the very best tours I have ever had and we travel a lot! Bravo Kitty and thank you.

Our group enjoyed a remarkable few days in the Shetland Islands guided by Kitty on full-day tours of the south and northwest mainland. Kitty grew up in Shetland but spent some time away, too, so she has a local's familiarity with the area combined with empathy and understanding of what a tourist might find interesting and surprising. Kitty's pleasant demeanor, backed up by broad and deep knowledge of the region's history, culture, politics, religion, geology, flora, fauna and probably more, made spending time with her a delight and greatly added to our enjoyment of this wonderful destination.
The numbers don't lie - as this is written, she has 41 out of 41 five-star reviews. They are well-deserved.

My cousin and I had 1 day in Shetland off a cruise boat. Kitty was amazing. She met us at the boat. We were particularly interested in Jarlshof and puffins. We went down to Jarlshof hearing interesting stories about Shetland and the people who live there.
We stopped at various sites to look around and hear the history. She did an amazing job giving us all the long history of Jarlshof ... and we saw loads of puffins. She's an absolutely brilliant guide. We would both recommend her and definitely use her again.

We were so fortunate to get a tour with Kitty during our short but memorable visit to Shetland. She is truly talented in what she does. It was such a thoughtful, well curated day. My family (including teenage daughter) and a couple got along easily with Kitty running the show. Sorry that I can’t recount the specifics due to limited RAM space in the brain. What I do remember is Kitty’s effortless combination of history, gorgeous views, and tidbits of Jimmy Perez. Oh, and close up puffin sightings! It was a memorable day. Thank you Kitty!

Kitty is an experienced, knowledgable and personable Tour Guide. Her vehicle is clean and comfortable and she drove very well. We had two fantastic days with Kitty. Our first tour was the South Mainland covering some brilliant historical sites as well as seeing some of Shetland’s wonderful wildlife including the lovely Shetland Wren and the comical puffins. We enjoyed lunch at the Sumburgh Hotel.
Our second day’s touring was to the very North of Shetland. We crossed from Mainland to Yell and then onwards to Unst. We drove to the end of the most Northerly Road in the UK, walked on the most northerly beach and had lunch in the most northerly cafe.
I was able to take many photographs including several of the bonxies (Great Skuas).
If you are considering a guided tour of Shetland put Kitty at the top of your list, you will not be disappointed.
