About
Formerly known as ‘Heatheryford’ – Garry Hunter has put Kinross Trout Fishery back on the map in Europe, especially with the addition of the onsite Activity Centre. Now an official TroutMasters Water, and Member of the British Float Tube Association The Fishery and Activity Centre is situated within the heart of Perth and Kinross, and has plenty of nearby historic landmarks, such as Loch Leven Castle where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned in 1567. We offer high quality Fly Fishing, C&R (Catch and Release) Spinning, Bait and Float-tube Fishing set over 4 waters in one of Scotland’s premier locations, 3 fly waters and 1 family bait water all with trout to around 20lb in weight. We stock, Rainbow, Golden, Blue and Brown Trout as well as having a natural stock of wild brown Loch Leven trout. Permits from our new Permit lodge and mobility restricted fishing pegs are available to book. We also take our activities offsite for private and corporate functions and weddings, etc.

Full of praise for Ian the Instructor who with humour and patience instructed the guys with Archery , laser clay pigeon shooting ,Rifle shooting and axe throwing great day out in a great setting . The kids had a ball . We will be back .

Highly recommended day out. 2 adults and 2 young teenagers. We chose the 4 activity sessions. Rifle shooting, archery, axe throwing and laser clay pigeon. I’d normal sit out activities but I’m so glad I joined in. We had fantastic time. Our instructor Gary was great and ensured we all had an amazing day whilst ensuring safety at all times. We visit Fife regularly and will definitely be back. Thank you for a day that was thoroughly enjoyed by all 4 of us (yes I include 2 teenagers in that statement)!!

We have used Kinross Trout fishery for several events. The venue is fantastic and the staff are professional, organised and helpful.

I spent an afternoon and evening here with friends completing all of the activities available. The centre is set in a beautiful location with several lakes, mature trees and country paths to take you around the site. We met several staff, all very friendly and helpful. Garry was our host for the activities. He kept us safe and entertained throughout, with helpful coaching to improve technique (and scores) on each activity. Finished the evening with a couple of nice rainbow trout fly fishing on one of the lakes. Great day out with friends.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. We’d booked two activities one of which needed to be changed. Garry our host was the epitome of professionalism and without his help we would have left empty handed, however he ensured my son got a catch!! Great set up, great organisation. We’ll be back.

Excellent few hours spent at the activity centre taking part in the air rifle and archery activities with friends visiting from the USA. Garry was a fantastic instructor! He was extremely knowledgable & safety conscious, gave clear instructions and demonstrations that all of our group could follow and had a manner that out everyone at ease with his good humour. He was particularly great with our 12 year old, really patient and encouraging. Everyone had so much fun and we hope to return and try some of the other activities on offer. We would definitely recommend to others.

A fun family afternoon yesterday trying our hand at axe throwing, archery and shooting air guns at targets - excellent instruction from Garry and Andy. Perfect to entertain and engage teens with mum and dad!!

Just returned home after a short session at Kinross fishery, my first visit in a number of years.
I was joined by my 15 yr old nephew who is a novice and was pleasantly surprised when the staff intimated that his session would be free due to him being under 16.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, offering advice and tips. Tam (I think his name is) was really helpful in particular, I was very impressed.
The place is well maintained and offers a good variety of spots to fish. The weather was not in our favour with bright sunshine and no wind so only managed 1 fish despite a good few enquiries. Despite that, it was obvious that there was a good head of fish moving around the ponds/ lochs.
Overall, a great place and we will be sure to return.
