Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We took our grandchildren on the Santa train trip. They all had a great time. A few treats to keep them entertained on the train and then a visit to see Santa who was lovely. The presents they got were very nice too. I would definitely recommend this. Good value for money considering the price of Santa visits now.

This is a fantastic little gem of a railway. We stumbled across it on the eve of Halloween and found that they were running a spooky train. The staff were so enthusiastic, they were all dressed up and were really interacting with every child. Our 2 and 5 year olds loved it. Can’t recommend it enough! The gift shop is really good value too! Thanks to all the staff!!!!

Lovely train ride and a hint of a breeze on a very hot day. We did the return journey after stopping for a drink at the Inn on the beach. Friendly volunteers.

This cute little railway is worth a ride if you are on Hayling Island but it is set so far back from the sea that the view is mostly of parked cars and beach huts.
Lovely friendly staff and reasonably priced (£12 for a family of four)
You can “hop on hop off” so can enjoy both ends of the beach

What a treat. Friendly station and gift shop staff. Very welcoming, helpful and dog friendly. We were encouraged to let the dog sit on our lap to be able to see out of the train and she loved it.
The gift shop is chock full of interesting items and a great place for buying unusual birthday or Christmas presents!

A nice way to travel along the beach at Hayling, get off and have an amazing ice cream at Virdees (fantastic !), then get the train back again. there are open and closed carriages as well as a saloon carriage.

Charming. A step back in time. We took our 2 year old Grandson for a ride up and down the line and he spent most of his time waving to the friendly people along the way. It does what is says on the tin and is no more expensive than the equivalent bus ride.

We decided to let the train take the strain after he had had lunch in the cafe across the road.
It's a really fun little ride and at only £6 for a single, it won't break the bank.
We chose one of the inclosed carriages but there are also open sided and full length ones.
Good news is they also take tap to pay card payments, get your ticket on the train.

We spent a fantastic couple of hours at the Hayling Railway while on a weekend break. We were met by the wonderful Chris Martin, who spent half an hour of his busy day, showing us around the sheds, and telling us all about the history of the Railway and the restoration of the carriages and engines.

The trip up to the funfair brought back many happy childhood memories. We stayed at the funfair for the 45 minutes, until the train returned.
Our bear, Bertie, (see picture) enjoyed his first trip, and the photographs taken will be included on the Children's story book, when completed.
This is a highly recommended thing to do for anyone, of any age, visiting Hayling Island.

Thank you for your review Paul. We're glad you enjoyed your trip and tour around the shed, and I'll be sure to pass on this review to Chris. We would love to see you and Bertie again.
