One you should tick off on your bucket list for Halifax!

If you manage to climb Wainhouse Tower on one of the days it is open to the public, you will not be disappointed! Great views over the surrounding area of Halifax

Ace asset to the Halifax skyline. Go up if only once the view is terrific and the climb to the top will get that lactate in your thighs going.

253 ft high finished in 1875 and now owned by Caulderdale Council who do not seem to think of this monument as being anything special as it is difficult to find and there is no information plaque at its base.

This is a Folly tower, the tallest in the world, Wikipedia says, though there are foolish things in the tower line, and taller, all over the world - eh, Dubai for a start! Originally started as a chimney for a factory, it was never connected to the flue, but remains a monument to Victorian eccentricity. It has a really kooky... More

The 253 ft tower is regarded by many as one of Britain's finest follies. The Tower is open to the public on Bank Holidays, so you only have a few days a year to actually climb the tower. For those brave enough to tackle the 403 steps to the viewing gallery at the top, the stunning views make it well... More

This structure dominates the local landscape at one end of Halifax and nearby Sowerby Bridge. I've seen it from the outside for years and years, but only recently took the opportunity to climb the internal spiral staircase and see the views from the top. The tower's only open to the public on select days of the year (usually Bank Holiday... More
