From the basin up along toward central Sowerby Bridge is a varied strech of canal with the significant double lock at Tuel Lane. Couple of interesting pubs long or near the canal.

An interesting canal side walk featuring one of the deepest locks on the canal network. A great tribute to British engineering.

Great place for a nice casual walk, passing through a number of little hamlets dependent upon distance you want to cover.

As part of the coast to coast canal system it has its part in history. It was never really commercially viable and is now a tourist attraction.
