If you only go to one attraction in GT Yarmouth make it this one. Well worth the time, and for once NOT over priced. You need about 2 hours to see it all.

The Museum is excellent telling a really interesting story of Great Yarmouth. Set in an old smoke house - amazing how large the area is for smoking fish. Very realistically told how Great Yarmouth was, and how people lived, prior to the First World War...More

Excellent museum for all ages. The rows of little shops and houses are fascinating. Also nice little cafe for a break to eat.

This old herring smoke house is amazing. It still smells of smoke and fish. The fishing industry has changed so much. There is lots of great displays and activities to keep the children interested. They have a exhibition on the circus which we found interesting....More

Hello - the museum is open daily (at the moment Mon-Fri 10am-4pm, Sat-Sun 12-4pm). From 29 March 2018 we change to Summer hours and will be open 10am-4.30pm each day.
