What can I say? This museum, by virtue of its name, has been calling to me for some time. Finally, on a pleasant, sunny Monday, my partner and I ventured forth, delighted to discover that, in addition to the main museum exhibits, there was a 'You've Never Had it so Good' temporary exhibition. Being fans of vintage decor and artefacts,... More

Delightful little museum in an old herring smokery. Reconstruction of an old Yarmouth street is fabulous. I would recommend the headset. Well worth a visit. Lovely tea room.

Had been meaning to visit this museum for a couple of years and made it yesterday. What an absolute treat, so interesting, so much to see and all displayed with great imagination. Two hours was not enough to appreciate everything so will be going back and looking forward to it. The restaurant on site was excellent also, fabulous cakes and... More

We had a lovely time here interspersed with a coffee and snack in the café. So much to see, smell and hear. So glad the museum has captured the unique Yarmouth accents too. I loved The Rows and the poignant film on WWII. If you are going you will need several hours to do it justice. Great for children -... More

An excellent local museum catering for all ages. A fascinating history of the rise of Yarmouth as a herring fishery port inside an old smoke house.

Went here a couple of weeks ago to show my brother who was visiting a taste of the 'old' Yarmouth. To be honest, museum's really aren't my thing and I get easily bored with history so didnt expect to fill the 3 hours we had to get round here... BUT how I wished we had got here at opening time!...
