About
Located on the historic South Quay in Great Yarmouth, The Yare Gallery is a new, free to enter art gallery for the town. This beautiful, light-filled and atmospheric three floor Grade II listed building now begins a new chapter under the direction of Great Yarmouth Preservation Trust as a setting for inspirational local and international art, with a changing programme of exhibitions throughout the year. The gallery is open Tuesday – Saturday, 11am – 4pm. Entry is free.

An absolutely stunning space full of character. I recently visited the Coast exhibition with my husband and little girl and we loved it. Beautiful art, full of light and such a warm and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend visiting and keeping up to date with what’s on at The Yare Gallery!

I live locally and to have such a great gallery in Yarmouth is fantastic. The different exhibitions have been marvellous. All the staff are welcoming and friendly. Well worth a visit.

An absolute gem of a gallery in a beautiful historic building situated on the South Quay, just across from the River Yare which lends it's reflective light straight into the rooms of the Gallery. A free & accessible gallery with an excellent display of artworks, such a great addition to Yarmouth. Not only is the building full of fantastic artwork but the surrounding area is great to explore with a wonderful new seafood restaurant on King St just a short walk away through the historic 'rows'.

Having visited The Yare Gallery for the first time today, I am not just impressed, I'm grateful to have this gem in Norfolk. The display of contemporary art is of high quality, with none of the pretentious cufuffle that you get in so many galleries. The exhibition spaces are light, bright and spacious; I loved the shabby chic of bare floorboards and old shutters on tall windows - artwork always works well hung in room settings. I thought the quality of the works on display very good, many were exceptional. It was good to see large works displayed with plenty to space. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and look forward to visiting again and chatting with the very friendly ladies who work there.

A second visit and like the first a curates egg.
There were some nice works but also some that were not.
The first visit had much of the gallery space full of colourful artworks by a local artist whose name I chose not to remember.
The second visit today may have been a display of 6th form work with some good stuff in between.
I was in the gallery for a maximum 15 minutes and wished it had been less.
This exhibition was less curated and more just thrown together from disparate works.
We tried it twice but never again unless I am sure that the quality makes the journey worth it.
The gallery is a nice building and is very disabled friendly.
