Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Not a great deal to see in this local museum. We were fortunate to visit when the Landseer exhibtion was on, so that made our visit worthwhile.

A small community run museum outlining the history of Grantown, and life in the area. Ideal if you are looking to fill a damp hour with children, with lots of hands on activities and dressing up in period style clothes.

Took some friends to Grantown Museum today. Had a wonderful time. The museum is a compelling history of the evolution of Grantown. The exhibitions are beautifully put together - with any extensive dressing up area!!! and the museum shop has fab merchandise. Museum staff very knowledgeable and welcoming. Highly recommend and great value for money.

Great little museum - lots of interesting exhibits - even our 8 year old was reading the display panels (which he doesn’t usually want to do), dressing up area great (we all had a go at this 😊) and museum staff really welcoming

Really impressed with this small local museum. High quality displays on varied subjects, with associated interpretive information, which do a great job of painting the picture of the development & ongoing history of Grantown. There's also a good bit of interactive stuff to help interest younger visitors, such as pre-decimal shop scales & cash till, & period dressing up clothes with a historic background setting for taking all the photographic memories & social media snaps.

If it's your kind of thing then the £4 entrance fee is fine value & would highly recommend a visit. If it's not, then I guess like a few prior posters, it will be viewed differently, but small local museums like this clearly need an income to operate, to work in combination with keen local volunteers & charitable donations.

This is a small, local museum that tells the history of the planned community of Grantown. It begins with an informative video and the exibits are interesting and well done. They also had a temporary exhibit of beautiful photographs of the area. Highly recommend.

Visited with my sister staying with us from England. We like visiting small local museums to support the local community but seen more interesting ones. Glad I went though as I feel my grandchildren would be bored here. Good information about the Grant clan and history but nothing else much. Something to interest younger people would be good. I was hoping to see something about farming, crofting, nature and landscape but nothing much.

We felt it wasn't value for money, we could have found all the information online. It comprised of a few room with plaques on the wall for you to read, but it was so dark, it was hard to read anything, at £4 each it wasn't worth it.
