What an interesting place Woolsthorpe Manor is! Not far off the A1, down a narrow country lane stands a farmhouse and outbuildings with an amazing tale to tell - the birthplace of Isaac Newton. On a half hour guided tour of the house we saw his famous bedroom where he performed many of his experiments with light and wrote his... More

During summer holidays special days were arranged to cater for children. We had a great time doing, trying and making all sorts. The volunteers are brilliant with children of all ages. It is not a large place but there was a lot to amuse and interest everyone.

Woolsthorpe was a really nice day out. We had booked a tour which took about an hour and was good fun, we had a lovely old gent who was very informative about Newton and a bunch of other stuff as well. There was a mix of outside and indoor activities including the house Newton was born and raised in and... More

An interesting day out which enlightens the visitor to how utterly amazing Newton was considering the era and the external influences. The house has attracted some prestigious visitors such as Einstein....no mean feat!!!

As we were visiting Stoke Rochford we realised how close we were to this National Trust property which is definitely worth a visit. The actually house was closed when we visited but we were still able to walk around the grounds. See the apple tree, watch the film about Sir Isaac Newton and spent plenty of time in the science... Our 10 year old son loved this and was still talking about it several days later. The guides were helpful and the knowledge they gave was wonderful. Compact site. Good tea room. Lovely to visit.

Woolsthorpe Manor is quite small compared to some NT sites but it is very compact and well presented. The house is well laid out and the activity centre is excellent. But pride of place must go to the apple. To stand next to the exact tree that inspired Newton is quite amazing, even if the original tree has blown down... More

Really loved this place! It is so well presented, so well kept and so unpretentious that one almost feels as if Isaac Newton is still living there and working on his numerous science projects.A truly wonderful glimpse into history of the time and of his life there. We booked a Guided tour slot via email and were amongst a group... More

We went on a friday and enjoyed a conducted tour of the house. It is an interesting place and well worth a visit if you are in the area. There is a good introductory video and the cafe, although small, has some fascinating hands on exhibits in the adjacent space. The famous apple tree is a photogenic stop after the... More

This is a small National Trust property that is well worth three hours of your time. The house itself is excellently presented and to be fully appreciated let one of the guides show you around. The outbuildings are interesting and the activity/ education centre is a must for adults and children. Last but not least there's that famous tree (the... More
