Well kept park with lots of wildlife to see - grey squirrels, a variety of birds, poultry and rabbits in Victorian cages, swans, ducks, coots, moorhens and geese on the pond. Lovely trees and plants and great play areas for children to play.

I can walk to the park in 15mins. It is a large park with different features such as large boating pond, tea-room, woodland and sports pitches. Quite a good location for urban birding. Usual warblers in summer. And Ive seen wigeon in the winter.

Great park for families of all ages. Good lake with plenty of ducks and swans for the kids to feed. Parking outside the park at the Saltwell Road side is best.

Had a great day with the family and had lunch in Saltwell Towers. The kids enjoyed the park and running around the lake and also playing football on the big open green park. There is plenty of play facilities for all ages.

Great Park with lots of money being spent on it over the past few years. Having previously lived I. This area it was a great experience to visit again. The boating lake with swans brings back so many memories from when I attended Gateshead technical college. Great area for children to run and play and tire them out! Have a... More

Paid £5 to gain entrance to the car park, which was the overflow, overflow, overflow car park and pitch black. The enchanted parks experience this year was based on poetry and plays. Nice walk around the park in the dark for an hour!!

Saltwell park is without doubt a fabulous park with great refreshments/toilets/parking(disabled also) facilities but we spent good money on the enchanted evening event expecting great things after all the marketing we'd endured and to be honest it was disappointing. There were a few good lighting effects but we seemed to do a lot of walking along dark paths with little... More
