Wonderful boat and amazing service from Maurice, I can’t praise him enough for the flexibility and understanding he showed us when the weather was typically British and changeable. He was very patient teaching both of us how to use the boat and where we could take it etc
Had a fantastic day exploring and eating on the river, very romantic picnic. Five stars and some for Maurice and his boats!

We booked a half day boat boat hire, and we loved it - it was just enough time to do a couple of laps of the area. Before the trip, Maurice gave us all the details we needed and it all went very smoothly. So much wildlife and plenty of sights to see. Would definitely recommend it as a fun day out.

We hired a boat from Maurice again, he's friendly and super flexible and nothings a trouble. Had loads of fun ferrying us around from Polruan, trips to Golant, Pont for best ever crabbing and up river when tide allowed. Would heartily recommend to everyone

Superb boat and great service from Maurice and the team - thank you so much for letting us have Swallow for the week. The boat was hired as a birthday surprise while down in Fowey for the week on holiday. The boat was very well maintained, all safety equipment provided and instructions second to none. The hire of the boat really made our holiday - much better than navigating the roads. Fantastic service - could highly recommend Fowey River Boat Hire to anyone - even royalty. Would highly recommend if you would like to hire a boat.

Hired a boat from Maurice, great communication throughout and have a good tour and guide on where we can and can’t go on the river fowey. We had a brilliant experience , stopped for lunch along the river and was then time to make our way back . Highly recommended, I can’t wait to go back

Fantastic half day in a lovely boat. Maurice was incredibly helpful and informative and refreshingly laid back which enhanced the whole experience. Highly recommended - we had a brilliant time despite slightly iffy weather.

My family and I had the absolute pleasure of renting a boat for the week from Maurice at Fowey River Boat Hire during our stay at Pont Pill in May half term 2023. From the moment we made our booking, the service was exceptional. Maurice personally delivered the boat to our location, where he securely moored it and provided a comprehensive orientation.
He explained the rules of the river, demonstrated how to operate the boat, and shared essential advice on understanding the tides and ideal places to moor. His professional yet friendly approach instantly put us at ease and filled us with confidence for our boating adventure.
Our children, aged 6 and 9, were absolutely thrilled. This experience provided a sense of adventure that they fully embraced. They fondly recall "our boat" and the day we got fish and chips from Polruan. The memory of that day is particularly etched in our minds. In an attempt to avoid attracting seagulls, I quickly instructed to dump the spilled chips over the side of the boat. However, this was amusingly misinterpreted, resulting in the chips being thrown into the air. It felt like every seagull in Fowey descended upon us. Thanks to the boat's impressive power, we were able to make a swift and exciting getaway. This unexpected event added an extra layer of adventure to our trip and has since been a story told with much laughter.
Our holiday was transformed by this unique experience. The convenience of reaching Fowey in just 10 minutes by boat, rather than an hour by car, was remarkable. However, the real value was the new perspective it offered. We saw aspects of nature that we might have missed and had some truly unforgettable experiences.
I wholeheartedly recommend Fowey River Boat Hire to any family planning a visit to the area. Not only did this adventure create unforgettable memories, but it also offered an immersive way to appreciate the natural beauty of Fowey and Pont Pill. We can't wait for our next trip and the opportunity to rent a boat from Maurice again. His exceptional service significantly contributed to our unforgettable holiday.

Maurice was so patience with us, despite a fair amount of "chopping and changing" in terms of what we wanted to do. The pick up and drop off worked perfectly and the half day we spent on the river was fabulous, despite some slightly windy conditions which made mooring an "interesting" challenge! All in all, a great experience and would highly recommend

Maurice arrived with the boat a couple of minutes at the property just after we did, his instructions were very clear and gave a few handy tips. He was very good at explaining the safety aspects and you can tell he has years of experience. He also recommended the Lugger in Fowey for food and that was excellent too. The boat was sturdy and stable perfect for popping down to Fowey for shops and as we did a takeaway run. We had the boat on a week's hire and I was not expecting to use it everyday but was so much fun we did go out everyday and twice a day when the tide permitted.

Absolutely spot on! Great service from Maurice, who dropped the boat at Polruan quay for a day hire. Loads of good advice of places to go and a cheery wave as we left. Will definitely be hiring again.

Hi, can you swim from the boat? Also, do you provide fishing equipment or is it BYO? As well as this can you go out to see or just stick to the river?

Morning, No, there are more fees to pay. You can moor up at the public pontoons at Polruan and Fowey. The price includes all fuel and buoyancy aids.
