Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Picture Gallery is open on Wednesdays and is a real hidden gem. There was pretty much no-one else there when I was there, so there's plenty of opportunity to take a seat and admire the works. I very much like the Victorian art that makes up the main body of the collection (sorry I'm not very good on genres). It's in the same vein as the Guildhall Gallery if you know that. It's all in one big gallery, so easy to get around, and the building is worth seeing too.

We had a great night DJing for Abi & Ali at their wedding at the royal holloway. All the event staff were friendly and super helpful and the venue is perfect for a medium/large sized wedding. We decided on purple uplighters with the starlight DJ booth. Great venue, great staff and great location!

Built in late Victorian times as Britain's first womens' college, this very impressive building is worth a visit and a wander around the outside, the two inner squares/quadrangles and some of the impressive interior halls and chapel. Not quite but almost engulfed by the large and tightly packed newer and modern university buildings, the 'Founders Building' is very big and still stands apart. Check for pictures on the main search engines and the Royal Holloway University of London sites for opening times and public tours. Easily worth an hour or more of anyone's time if in the area.

Queen Victoria cut the ribbon in 1886, opened the university and firmly placed her Royal before the founder's Thomas Holloway. It started as a women only college for higher learning but now teaches anyone who can match it standards and manages to get enrolled. This university seriously makes me want to take admission, get a degree (get under huge debt) just so I can tell others that I graduated from here.

It maybe lower in ranking than other big names but I think it's main Founder's building is more magnificent than the Oxford and Cambridge. With that Victorian era Renaissance architecture and a grand palace French Château like design, who wouldn't wanna study here in such a fairytale setting?

As a Graduate of RHC, I love this place, and still visit on a regular basis. Having studied music, I now return as a photographer, with so much to look at and record.

I stayed here on business recently and as I pulled up to the venue, I was in awe at the beauty of the building. Truly stunning.

The staff and campus were all friendly and the facilities in the main lecture areas were all fantastic however the rooms were absolutely awful.

Whilst I appreciate that this is a university, the rooms were filthy, full of ants, hairs, blue tac on walls, hand prints on walls. I can deal with a basis room, but this was unclean and it seems that I was not the only one to think this. Other colleagues staying at the venue experienced the same including holes in walls and toilets which did not work and drains which did not drain.

It's a shame these were such a let down as the main building was beautiful, although very very warm!

Beautiful building, great food and service. Facilities a bit dated and institution like (which it is). Not very glamorous.

One of the many constituents of the University of London - this one is tucked away nicely in the south west somewhere between M4 and M25. The university has a beautiful and magnificent orange-red building - which has been used to shoot box office films too - located in leafy suburb of Surrey not too far away from Middlesex and London. Quick access to all parts of the country available through M25 nearby as indeed to Heathrow. Can be quite an exhausting walk going up the hill to get to the main entrance - especially coming from Egham rail station! Not exactly a place for sight seeing although the University management does allow reservations for the use of its Victorian rooms for special occasions which probably would involve a considerable booking fee. Great architecture and splendid atmosphere for the lucky students accepted to further their studies there.
