Visited with friends. Wonderful workhouse tour with volunteer Barbara. Wow what knowledge. Highly recommended. Certainly a good collection of farm machinery, and life in times gone by. Quite an emotional historical place and certainly when you look into the wall of names, ages etc. A visit to the laundry and men's work yard felt quite moving. Nice cafe for food... More

Went for the first time here today, always wanted to visit. Had fun walking around the whole site with our 4 year old, along by the river, watching the tractor and trailer taking people round the farm. Looking at the old farm machinery and learning about how life was like for children in the workhouse etc. Great place to go,... More

Visited here March 8th & what a place. Everything is signposted up well & so many different parts to see inside & out. There is a lot off holographic information which really makes you realise how lucky we are now & hits you more as makes you feel like you are being spoken to by the poor souls who were... More

My boyfriend and I came here for a visit during February half term and we were pleasantly surprised at how much there was to see and the quality of the exhibitions. Both the museums and the working farm offered a chance to step back in time and the quantity of artefacts that they own here is incredible!

Had a lovely day here out with the family and some friends. Lots to see in the museum and really interesting to see the original schoolroom. We had a picnic in the grounds as the weather was so nice.

We visited Gressenhall Workhouse for their Victorian Christmas event yesterday. What a lovely experience So much work done by volunteers A choir with beautiful voices; our grandson made a peg doll, a scented pomander, played shove halfpenny and a Christmas bauble. We all enjoyed a lesson in the schoolroom. So much fun with everyone in character. Not forgetting the Artful... More

My wife and I spent most of the day here. Went to the farm first as it looked like rain and enjoyed walking round the attraction there and had a good conversation with a young fellow working in what looked like a tack room who was interested to hear about my wife's grand-dad who was in the Royal Artillery in...
