We were staying nearby at forest holidays and decided to undertake the 9 mile family bike trail from Beechenhurst. The trail is slightly uphill for the first 2 miles but after that it is flat. It has a great downhill section near the end, definitely...More
We took a visitor here and had a lovely afternoon walking around the sculpture trail finding the sculptures. Even though it poured down the day before it was not too muddy, The autumn colours were lovely. Friendly other walkers about as well
We found an 8 mile walk online from here and decided to give it a go. Cafe at the start was welcome as we realised we forgot our lunch so purchased a couple of sandwiches.
It was a lovely day and was easy to follow....More
Loved it. Plenty of walks and cycle paths for all abilities. We’ll sign posted walks and the scenery was wonderful. We were lucky to see the Earth photo exhibit, which was also worth a look. The cafe was good value too!
From walking the sculpture trail, with 'paw' buddy in tow; to climbing on the adventure park; or for the more daring 'Go Ape'. Beechenhurst has a lot to offer. The staff in the cafe are just wonderful, always friendly and helpful. If you are looking...More

A lovely Review, Thank you.
The Forest of Dean is a truly beautiful place isn't it. We have lots of trails for all abilities, something for everyone.
At Beecehnurst we have GoApe Junior and our other site Mallards Pike has a GoApe Adventure.

Hi Lynne, more information can be found on the Forestry Commission website for Beechenhurst Lodge where you'll be able to find an access statement. The immediate site does have some facilities for wheelchair users however if you are looking for a suitable trail I would suggest nearby Mallards Pike or Symonds Yat where we have routes which meet the required standards for wheelchair users. Parking charges do apply however the ticket is transferable between all the car parks so you could visit all 3 sites. For more info visit the Forestry Commission Forest of Dean web pages.
